MSFS is Beyond Frustrating

Featured Replies

I have MSFS installed on two separate computers. Yesterday I spent two hours before I finally got MSFS to actually complete loading to the airport. I had to try disabling community folder, safe mode, deleting rolling cache, and God knows what else. For the past day, I can not get MSFS to load from the home screen to the airport "Ready to Fly" screen. I have tried everything. One minute it works, and then the next minute it doesn't. Both computers are fairly high-end so hardware is not the issue. Internet is very fast, also not the problem. If I can't even fly in safe mode, this photogrammetry disabled, I am out of ideas. MSFS is great when it works, but this is getting old. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Cheers, Pete

Can you provide the entire path for the Steam version? I can’t seem to find the content.xml file.

For what it’s worth, I’m getting that “not enough bandwidth” message too. I suppose this may be related. This is ridiculous though. One day it works fine, and then the next day it is unusable. It’s becoming a bit exhausting having to cross my fingers and hope it works.

So, did deleting the content.xml fix your initial problem that you couldn't get MSFS to load?

It loaded one time, and has not loaded since. I am out of ideas. This “bandwidth” message must be related, but I don’t have a clue of why I’m getting that message.

Well investigate your Network Situation. Are you using any kind of Third Party Firewall or Antivirus that is blocking the data and is your Router set up right? Are you using a VPN ? Is it WI-FI or Ethernet ?

It’s all good regarding the network. This issue just popped up out of nowhere. I’m continuing to troubleshoot. I use Comcast super high speed wireless internet and the combo router/modem, for several years now. Something else is going on.

Did you use the Google maps replacement mod?

I installed it last week but then deleted it a few days ago. I wonder if there are any conflicts left.
