Cheers, Pete Check your hosts file in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc to see if it removed the mod entries. You needed to press the stop mod button to remove the entries when you stopped using it and perhaps you didn't. Cheers, Pete I know this is a long shot, and have read it doesn't really help, but have you tried running MSFS as Administrator? I right click the icon, and always run it that way....maybe worth a try. See, I've had my fair share of frustrations with MSFS, but this one of yours is probably self-induced. You should not mess with a core part of the sim if you do not even know where the content.xml is. This might help you: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/low-bandwidth-message-connection-lost-switched-offline/464121/111 For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

June 26, 20223 yr Author That did it! Lesson learned, you guys are the best! I think I didn’t realize what I was getting myself into when I installed that Google mod! I’m glad I feel like an word not allowed now! 😁 Cheers, Pete Yeah, the more add-ons you install, the more unstable MSFS becomes. It’s the nature of add-ons. For most add-ons in the Community folder, those can normally be turned off easily if you are using Add On Linker. I have not used the Google mod yet, but I read that it modifies the host files in Windows? If the Google mod does modify the host file in Windows, it’s modifying files external to MSFS and that can cause problems. Lastly, anything you buy in the MSFS marketplace counts as an add-on. Those can potentially cause problems too, if those add-ons were not updated to work with the latest Sim Updates. The difference being, it's much more cumbersome to disable the marketplace add-ons than the add-ons in your Community folder. Edited June 27, 20223 yr by abrams_tank i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM

Out of curiosity, does the Google mod inform you that it needs to modify the host file when you install the Google mod? I would think the creator of the Google mod should let the user know that the host file needs to be modified and it can have adverse effects afterwards (such as the effects @PilotPete99 is experiencing or what Fsxlover2 mentioned). I had a terrible time with FSX on my computer...Freezes, FPS issues, BSOD's, you name it. I gave up on flight sim in 2015 only to come back to MSFS now. I have a new set up (although not the newest of computers) and it has been smooth sailing so far. I really feel for people having issues and it reminds me of my frustrations. So much so that I still fly with a niggling fear of the system crashing again. Makes me very happy to see guys like you who take the time to help out fellow simmers. Thank you again!

I never had any issues with the Google map because that's one of those add-ons that I test and if I feel I don't need it. I just reset my computer from an image I create after every WU. MSFS
