August 7, 20223 yr Got this EGAA as soon as I saw it was out. Probably one of the best airports I've ever seen. OK, I'm talking as a "likes to see the coffee cups" type of guy rather than a "those taxiway markings are not accurate" sort of guy, so I've no idea if all the stuff the serious pilots care about is any good or not. But for me, this is a truly amazing piece of work. Once upon a time Orbx ruled the world for scenery, but they've long since ceased to be credible in my eyes, the likes of Pyreegue and IniScene have picked up that baton and run way off into the distance with it. So, I tried a little circuit in the 737-600. Not hugely successfully I have to say, I'm still just happy to get this off the ground and back down again and I managed the first ok but the coming down bit was a little messy. No actual crash though and I only had to go round once so I'm at least getting better! Some of these pics will no doubt annoy the "waste of sim resources" brigade, but to be honest this airport didn't eat up my frames anything like some of the others I've got. Pretty much business as normal, performance wise, which is impressive because the level of detail inside and around the airport is phenomenal. Take a look at what's on sale in Dixons to see what I mean! And the people animations are also really impressive - very lifelike and not a zombie among them. Here we go then, that's me waiting at the end of the runway - A little look round inside - I thought this looked impressive - but when I took a look around inside I was blown away - And that RTX box put a smile on my face that hasn't left yet Actually, the interior is so good it's a bit depressing. I really do get the feeling of being there and I have honestly had enough of hanging around in airports to last me way beyond the rest of my lifetime. If we ever get to the point of having this level of detail but with the sort of crowded scenes you get for real (maybe when the RTX 8090ti arrives?) then I may even find myself going into "airport mode" (you maybe know this better as "a catatonic state") sitting at my desk when going into a terminal even in the sim. So let's go back outside Jeez, is he still sitting there? We gave him clearance to go ages ago Sorry, I was just trying to remember if I'd picked up everything from my hotel room. (and even this looks depressingly realistic!) Anyway, off we go then - That's the military area below us to the left So after a bit of ugly flying, this is me coming in for the second time (too fast as usual the first time, so had to go round again) Landing was reasonably smooth if not entirely accurate (it doesn't seem to mind grass at all <grin>) And I did get parked without killing anything. I also grabbed a bunch of nice shots in another part of the terminal, or thought I did. Turns out I had the focus on the wrong screen at the time and the capture pgm just recorded a series of shots of the Flight Recorder program. Never mind, I will go back here very soon. August 10, 20223 yr Pyreegue seem to have rapidly become one of the very best developers in the flight simulation industry. I do not have Microsoft Flight Simulator yet, but this kind of quality is hard to resist.... (Agree, these characters don't look like Zombies for sure...having seen plenty of those...🙂....)... Thanks everybody, appreciated. Once I get a bit more familiar/capable with the 737 I'm looking forward to a bit of flying between here and the other Pyreegue airports in the UK and having a bit of a walkabout at both ends. And maybe exploring Ireland a bit more. I don't go out much in the UK (for real or in the sim!), in the sim's case I guess it's a question of familiarity. But when I do bother I'm often surprised by how good bits of it look.
