August 11, 20223 yr Following on from my last trip, where I spotted the Edmonton Mall, I discovered that the world's biggest shopping mall is currently in Tehran, the Iran Mall (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran_Mall). So I thought I'd go see if it was in the sim. I'm using the Google Map enhancement thingy so I thought there might be a chance. Read on for confirmation/denial! Heading off from OIIE heading north towards the city This was actually one of the first places I came in the sim when it first came out. I was curious to see how all those places that had previously been ignored in sims everywhere looked. I was very impressed at the time. I've gotten a bit spoiled in the last two years so it feels a teensy bit more generic now but it is essentially the same as on release, and still pretty impressive for default. I have one addon freeware package from .to in there that adds a couple of buildings but otherwise it's stock. Heading all the way over to the western edge of the city (appropriate, for a shopping mall here I guess). The mall should be just beyond that body of water up ahead And there it is. Well, on the terrain image, anyway This is what it looks life in real life, courtesy of Wiki But unfortunately it's not modelled in the sim But hopefully, it's only a matter of time, and it will turn up at some point And of course, if you stay up high enough it looks ok So, we head away from the world's biggest (and possibly only two-dimensional) shopping mall and head off back into the city centre This, I believe, is the Milad Tower, and is part of the freeware pack I mentioned above (https://flightsim.to/file/4725/iran-tehran-pack-v1) I did go on and have a wander around the hills before heading back to OIIE, but I thought this was probably enough for one post.
