007 and a few big jets from the recent week's files...

Featured Replies

First of all, myself, bit of a Bond fan....🙂...the DHL (AeroLogic) 777F livery shown, below, that, I caught, in this week's (popular) library uploads, especially drew my attention (I'd earlier shown a DHL (Douglas) DC-8-73(F) in one of my previous posts). Notice, here, the prominent "007" marking and logo, on the 777F fuselage (the actual a/c variant is a 777-200LRF equipped w/ those (massive) GE 90-110B engines, as seen in the pictures, below). Now, the Bond character may be "fictional", but I assure you that this 007 (DHL) 777F livery (see RW video clip suggestion, below) is not just a fictional imagination of one of our (esteemed and ever productive....🙂...) repainters... (I, personally, do like fictional repaints in the SIM...see e.g., the Alaska Airlines Northern Lights Livery in one of my (previous) posts on 737 MAX, which paint, at least a few folks, here, liked too... (until Alaska Airlines actually decides to paint a MAX in that color...it would not be a far-fetched livery, at all) ...)

Anyway, in the RW, the "DHL Aerologic 007" 777F (Reg. D-AALM) livery, seen below, was (reportedly) used to transport items for the latest James Bond movie (No Time to Die). [BTW, only if you are a fan too, of the fictional hero, you may look back at an elaborate post, I'd contributed in the past, here, about a few James Bond (related) planes, that the character seems to have flown in some of his Film escapades...(of course, we all know that 007 is pre-certified to fly almost any plane, from the flimsiest gyro to the heaviest jumbo...if/when hard-pressed by the bad-guys, and often (or/and usually) not exactly going by the book, i.e., throwing to the wind the (published) recommendations and guidelines of the a/c manufacturer...🙂...) ...As an aviation fan and a Bond fan, if you're so inclined, I particularly recommend e.g., a viewing of his (incredible) DC-3 piloting skills in "Quantum of Solace", matched against a very nimble Marchetti SF. 260 fighter a/c..., where the sluggish (but ever endearing) Douglas Gooney Bird (rather miraculously) outmaneuvers the Marchetti...🙂...saving one more day for our hero...]

In the context of DHL, here, the well-known German courier, it's to be noted that "Aerologic", see marking near the front end of this 777F fuselage, is a 50/50 joint venture and cargo airline founded in association with Lufthansa Cargo and DHL Express. And I would also like to draw your attention, here, to a (worthy) commercial, that DHL did, around the time of the release of that Bond Film (last year/ 2021), to take advantage of its prestigious involvement in the production of the Film. Please search for the keywords "DHL Delivers a Package to 007" and view the interesting ~(1m:30s) commercial clip. This (fast-paced) bit was created with help from the actual photography director and stunt coordinator of the original Film. The ending shots of the commercial, after the (DHL) package is finally delivered to 007, is worth noting...I leave that bit for you to see, if you wish to i.e... (Surely, this commercial adds a new meaning to DHL's slogan "DELIVERED. SIMPLY DELIVERED", see this marking, on the fuselage shots below, type-faced right next to the Bond's iconic 007 Logo...) ...

The rest of the (3) pictures, in the collection, below, are all (freeware) 737 MAX 8 liveries of a few (other) airlines, with eye-catching colors, that I came across (and captured) from the library today...

All these a/c, indeed, are good-looking and rather impressive too, in their own rights...!

Enjoy...!!

[If you wish to see the exact same (Reg. D-AALM) DLH/Aerologic (007/777F), as in my pictures below, in (RW) action, please search for "007 taking off | Boeing 777-F | AeroLogic | D-AALM @ Leipzig/Halle Airport" for a (2m:09s) video. The a/c is taking off from Leipzig/Halle Airport, which is Aerologic's Headquarters City... (the parent DHL being located in Bonn, Germany) ...]

Thank you...🙂...!!

Folks:

Both DHL (shown above) and FedEx (shown below) are two of the major operators of the 777 Freighters, with 20+ and 50+ examples, currently operational, serving as the backbone, in their respective fleets. These 777Fs are also among the youngest a/c (if not the youngest) in their fleets.

Please, find, here, 4 pictures of FedEx Boeing 777-200LRF (w/ GE Engines). This specific 777F (Reg. N878FD) was delivered fresh to FedEx, just about 4 years ago, been ferried from Paine Field (Boeing Everett Factory) to Memphis Intl. (FedEx Headquarters), on 27 Oct. 2017.

Thanks for viewing...!
