August 23, 20223 yr Somewhere here somebody said that they changed to a certain Nvidia driver and had great results. I haven't, and I seldom do anyway, touched my display driver since I rebuilt my PC some months ago. I probably installed a Vulcan driver (as I have X-Plane 11, although haven't used it much), but really cannot say for sure. Nvidia's GeForce Experience, and all the simplicity it promised, lured me into installed that and and updating to the latest driver automatically. (Of course restarted) and tested the shiny new driver with a quick flight in MSFS (SU9) and immediately noticed that my ground scenery was very blurry in the near distance. Then I realised that the G1000 (NXi) displayed were quite blurry too. To the point of being unable to clearly distinguish detail in some areas. Long story short is I've realised that the change has clearly changed some Graphics settings within MSFS (that was a huge surprise), and updating those (and doing restarts, of both PC and sim) has mostly recovered what I had before with what's happening outside the window. But my PFD and MFD is still blurry, in spite of clear textures elsewhere inside the cockpit (it used to be as clear as anything else before the big change). What possible settings could affect just the clarity of the G1000 NXi displays? EDIT Solved: Render Scaling was reduced to 75%. 😑 GeForce Experience removed and back to doing this the old way. Better performance, but a bit blurry at the moment. You can either increase sharpening, or go back to TAA for a while until Asobo / Nvidia solve it. Ignore the above - as Tuskin pointed out, you are on SU9 - no DLSS available. So next I would try your Super Sampling on maximum on the settings page, and make sure in Nvidia control panel that it is application controlled on all settings. If not, it can override sim settings. August 23, 20223 yr Verify that GeForce Experience isn't set to automatically optimize your MSFS graphics settings (its on by default). If it is, turn that off and go into your MSFS settings and set them back to your manual preferences.
August 23, 20223 yr Author I've removed GeForce Experience. I think I've found the culprit. As @Mike T pointed out GFE must've changed my MSFS Graphics settings, and after making a raft of changes I just realised that Render Scaling was set to 75%. Drag it to 100% and all looks good again. Thanks everyone for your help and input. I was starting to get excited about buying a new computer. 😂
August 23, 20223 yr lol I remember people arguing with me as to why i do a driver only installation and i pointed out this very reason. My rule is .. unless you have specific use for an application ... do not install it. Glad you figured it out..
