Shoreham (EGKA) terminal building looks like plywood!

Recommended Posts

I have had FS2020 for a couple of years but have only recently starting doing more than 'dabbling'. (I'm a long time user of 'the other sim'.)

I noticed yesterday that the art deco terminal building at Shoreham looks as if it is made from plywood, in FS2020. I cannot recall if this has always been the case or that I noticed it only yesterday. All my other FS2020 scenery (default only) seems to be okay, as does the rest of EGKA.

FWIW, I used to live only a few miles from Shoreham and have visited the place several times - so I do know what it's meant to look like!

I performed an unsuccessful app repair. Would an app reset help?

Any advice appreciated.

Apologies if this is in the wrong part of the forum.

There is a payware version of Shoreham available, but Superspud's freeware version is excellent (or is it by MKVY).  Whichever, they both do incredible stuff for msfs)

I can honestly say I will never look at the clock. Nor would I if I was flying from Shoreham for real.

The version from ORBX is not too bad.

https://orbxdirect.com/product/egka

That and it's surrounding areas are 9+ years of date, I got a refund on that as it's just a quick port from another Sim. IniBuilds EGKA is much better although it has a bit of a performance hit.

(I'm also very local to Shoreham and drive past EGKA every day)

Ah, there you go. I've never been there so the ORBX version is just a good improvement on the default for me.

I have the Orbx EGKA for XP11. The clock on the tower only shows GMT, not BST 🤐

Well at least it will be off only during one half of the year. 😉

I like to fly from Shoreham from time to time, so it would be worth me paying for the airport, but MKVYs freeware airport is so good, I didn't feel the need to part with any money.

Some of the stuff on flightsim.to is up to payware quality and even the ones that are not are always better than the default.  I've downloaded hundreds of addons from there and have very rarely deleted any (though my 1TB SSD is nearly full so I may have to).
