SU11b Convective Weather & Turbulence

Featured Replies

The OP in the thread below on the official forums is doing some great testing and reporting of his findings about the new large-scale atmospheric airflow CFD simulation, proximity airflow CFD (close to aircraft), and local aircraft CFD. Until MS/Asobo gives us more information/details this thread remains a great source.

For example his screenshots below show how turbulence is a net result of airflow combinations and collisions, eddies, vortices, etc

Does SU11 bring rotors off the back side/lee side of ridges? Thanks!

That was a fun thread to read.

A video of how the CFD driven simulation of proximity airflow interacts with the aircraft (note it's AI pilot driven, assuming OP in https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/testing-the-new-airflow-simulation/549454/52?u=lwtxb did it just to be able to take the video from outside the aircraft)
