January 20, 20233 yr Author I've had the same issue using some beta version. I don't know the version as I no longer have it installed since I went back to P3D 4.5. But even having to do a manual selection, the instructions worked just fine for me continuing with step 6. January 20, 20233 yr Okay, I found an alternate way to export/import and now all the objects are not aligned in P3D5 as they are in P3D4 so what needs to be done so that all the buildings etc are situated in P3DV5 like they are in P3DV4?

Dave I have prokey installed and that didn't change a thing. I've managed to export/import the buildings but in P3DV5 they are not positioned the same as in P3D V4 This is overhead in P3D V4 This is overhead in P3DV5 - Notice the buildings are not situated exactly as in above screen shot Some buildings are in the middle of tarmacs or roads.
January 21, 20233 yr @Butch1 While in P3Dv4, you can select the buildings, one at a time. Once you have selected them all, proceed with the export part. In P3Dv5, once you have imported the objects, if they don't show up where you like them to be, simply reposition them manually. dv Win 10 Pro || i7-8700K || 32GB || ASUS Z370-P MB || NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11Gb || 2 960 PRO 1TB, 840 EVO My Files in the AVSIM Library

Therefore, P3Dv4 buildings, which were placed based on the old P3Dv4 airport layouts and coordinates, may not match the P3Dv5 airport. Since you know how to use ADE, it might be easier to just manually add generic buildings yourself. January 21, 20233 yr For some reason When I compile in ADE a gray road is added to the scenery. This road is not visible in either P3DV4 or V5 ADE outllned with red line Ade doesn't show that road, it is only seen in the sim (P3DV5). It looks like that gray road is only in P3DV5 and not V4. Reason I mention this is there are buildings that are on that road and no way I know of can I remove the road. Otherwise the import of ADE objects went well but puts some building on that gray road in P3DV5. It's invisible in ADE but not {3DV5. Edited January 21, 20233 yr by Butch1
January 21, 20233 yr Author I bet this road is part of the upgraded V5 vector data and not part of the airport data set. If you know the airport in real life you’ll recognize it as the gated main road leading onto the airport. January 22, 20233 yr Looks like P3DV5 has got the layout right; the gray road does exist but is not depicted in P3DV4, I'm guessing that I would have to located those buildings that are sitting on that gray access road and make estimated guess on where to move them. Is there such a thing as a vector data editor for P3D5? Edited January 22, 20233 yr by Butch1
January 22, 20233 yr I've managed to move the hangers/buildings that were sitting in the middle of that gray road. It helped when ADE would load that airport and the location of the aircraft so that I could locate the buildings that needed to be relocated. Edited January 22, 20233 yr by Butch1

They definitely skipped a few things. Buildings that only show up on Very Dense that showed in v4 with much lower settings. Far fewer parking positions at most airports. I imagine those will be fixed in v6. Ray (Cheshire, England). January 23, 20233 yr For completeness, my technique to align buildings is to add a geolocated image of the airport as background in ADE. With this image as a background, I can easily move the buildings to the desired location. In P3Dv5, the runways are aligned with the real world, but the rest is notional. I suspect that runway alignment is crucial to LM's primary customers; taxing to parking and airport buildings, not so much. dv Win 10 Pro || i7-8700K || 32GB || ASUS Z370-P MB || NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11Gb || 2 960 PRO 1TB, 840 EVO My Files in the AVSIM Library
