LA: Santa Monica and Venice Beach Scenery

Featured Replies

A free addon by scene-developper IniBuild is the very well modelled LA-Coastal Strip of about 3 Km, well known as 'Venice Beach' to the famous 'Santa Monica Pier'. Hereby some highlights along this coastal part of Los Angeles. Just left of the Pier is a small GA-strip, ideal for VFR-flights around. This scenery is a perfect addition to the (payware)KLAX-scenery also from IniBuild and only a few miles further west.

Just a pitty that no humans are modelled in this scenery to make it more lifelike. I visited this area in July 2010 during my West-US travel and stayed a couple of days in a hotel viewable in last shot above.

That is not unique to this addon.  A case in point are hangars in the scenery libraries of MSFS.  Most if not all are closed.  Few if any that are open. Makes otherwise great work by freeware developers look desolate or deserted.

A thorough close inspection that in some ways actually beats a real life stroll. I was there once (30 years ago) but didn't see half these details.

Fantastic drone shots Johnny!  Well done and they've given me a lot of ideas for a new comic.
