Kai Tak Hong Kong

Featured Replies

Kai Tak Airport in Hong Kong was the international airport of Hong Kong from 1925 until 1998. I flew there many times in the nineties.

Here are some screenshots which I hope are of interest 🙂.

Awesome Paul.  I had the FlyTampa version in P3D, is this payware?

Thanks Jack 🙂. The shots include the payware Kai Tak from Model Instruments and the HK City Times scenery from samscene3d. I also needed an exclude file from flightsim.to (freeware) to remove a large building from the runway!

Agreed. Only purchased the airport and scenery this week. I had a quick look but didn't find it. I intend to search for it again 🙂.

Fine set, beautiful Airport !

Thank you kindly 🙂.

Very nice screenies, Paul. I have landed there multiple times in the 80s and 90s. Luckily in your part 2 you showed the correct way of landing at Kai Tak 😀😀

Any attempt to stretch fuel is guaranteed to increase headwinds

Thank you Bernd. Yes, part two reminds me of looking into people's bedrooms on some flights many years ago! 😄

Beautiful series out of Kai Tak, Paul...was looking for the checkerboard on the hill...🙂.... nonetheless, awesome shots, you have, here, of the cityscape...!!
