Well they've been @-tagged, so wouldn't they chime in when/if they come on this forum next, and if they feel like it? (perhaps you'd also benefit from basic primers on how these forums work). But then again, I suppose you also have superpower insights into their "brave" experiences with the FM CFD like you do about MS/Asobo's marketing department 😆

It's true. I've run so much CFD in my lifetime, there's a full wind tunnel up in my head now (yes, it's empty, you read that correctly).

That said, when I see M$/Asobo claiming it's ground-breaking, I shake the head. So much marketing hot air.... And then it gets parroted over and over again...much like XP fans mentioning NASA (actually, you drew that conclusion: brilliant word association by the way)

But, seriously. CFD is miraculous in it's own right. That we can conjure up weather predictions as if from black magic... It's easy to get worked up over.

Looks like you're conflating users on forums or elsewhere saying "ground breaking" with what MS/Asobo supposedly "claimed"? Where did MS/Asobo claim this? I have not seen them say this anywhere. When users say this, I'd advise not getting so irked by it... to some MSFS users, yes this is ground breaking, so what that's their opinion ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Maybe I am seeing misinformation generated by fans? Maybe they are parroting misinformation? Dunno. Probably both.

Regardless of the source, it doesn't hurt to try to correct the errors for anyone who will listen.

Possibly, but it's not really "misinformation" is it, it's more of a qualitative thing, an opinion to call it "ground breaking" (and regardless, it's a fact that that CFD being used in atmospheric airflow modelling or local FMs has not been done before in any sim as the OP on this thread stated). Now on the other hand, the nonsense that Meyer spews about how MSFS focuses on visuals and XP on realism, which his fans then parrot 😉, that falls directly in the misinformation bucket I'd say.

I wouldn't call it misinformation as much as it is conveying shortcomings in a more politically correct way. In the past, he's been far more vocal and direct about FSX. It's.... well.... marketing! (plus NASA)  : )

Well I'd call it misinformation as it's farcically far from facts, but I also understand why Meyer would say that given the current sim market situation 🙂 ... Anyways, I brought it up given your characterization of MSFS users lauding some MSFS features as coming from MS/Asobo themselves. MS/Asobo never have said such things about how their features (including this new CFD stuff) are the best or the most realistic or whatever other self-congratulatory terms, nor have they said anything about XP except for wishing the XP team well on the release of v12.
