Is anybody else excited about the new 20 KM CFD in SU11?

@blingthinger and @lwt1971. Can you both take your discussion / disagreement to PM please. Or just agree to disagree. There are others who wish to discuss this without having to cope with your bickering.

I hear you, Ray. I tried many times to avoid the XP discussion. Granted, I'm not going to just let blatant misinformation just slide...so I have directly addressed shots fired, but my most recent post was a direct question for about Asobo's FM CFD. So, maybe not weather-related, but still CFD-focused. Still waiting for lwt to answer, given it was referring to one of their own comments.

Plural? I've been chatting with one person. And only one. Nor have I said anything to trigger anybody. I'm asking technical questions.

If someone wants to draw a line between NASA and XP, that's their prerogative. Wasn't me that made that explicit connection!

No, I specifically cited phrases blingthinger used, which riled up the users in this forum:

I have nothing against the facts that blingthinger brought up.  Facts are fine. But he did more than use facts, he also started using phrases that got people upset, as I cited in the post above.

You said you don't like misinformation.  This isn't about something blingthinger said that you found offensive.  Besides, we get negative comments said about us all the time.  Being part of a cult is one of them. There was misinformation posted about the CFD flight model.  Blingthinger corrected it.  You got annoyed at some of the things he said, and decided to tag him 4 times in a single post, and quote 2 of his posts, and then proceeded to tag the CEO of avsim.  Yet you think calling X-Plane "pathetic" is acceptable.

As was said previously, if you want us to stay out of these forums, and not try to correct misinformation in here, we expect the same in return.  Not a difficult concept to grasp.

That's rich coming from the one who brought it up.... If the misinformation you're talking about is how the word driven was used, that's just sad.

And my I add expect replies or corrections if any MSFS users decide to wander in the X-Plane forums with negative comments or misinformation if they can't control their urges.

As I already said, I am fine with facts being used.  But maybe try not to use phrasing like this, which is inciteful:

I do remember that one, actually. A few months back. It's not often that a M$F$ fan such as yourself actually seems to want to know the dirt on their targets of affection and devotion. But hey, now we all know how you drive your interactions with others after knowing the facts.

And also this, which is also inciteful:

That said, when I see M$/Asobo claiming it's ground-breaking, I shake the head. So much marketing hot air.... And then it gets parroted over and over again...much like XP fans mentioning NASA (actually, you drew that conclusion: brilliant word association by the way)

Maybe try not to use the M$F$ fan, M$, or M$F$ as a start.

And calling the CFD in MSFS "marketing hot air".  Yeah, that's very disrespectful.

Referencing other software is a trigger (nor was I the first to mention XP)? Yikes! Loosen that grip!

Ok, we'll keep those kinds of posts in the X-Plane forums.  If you don't like that it gets posted, we expect you to be respectful if you decide to pay us a visit.  If not, expect pushback.  After all, that was the word you used.

Thanks but no thanks for the suggestion. If that triggers folks, I mean....wow. That said, I do tend to refer to Asobo.

Is it possible to be disrespectful to an inanimate object? Computer code in this case?

Now, I was specifically referring to FM CFD. Not the weather CFD, which I did declare jealousy of.

Given how little the CFD is used in the FM (prop wash only? That's it??) and given how the SDK reads, I have no other conclusions than my quote above. That might change in the future. I'll adjust accordingly when the time comes. That's also part of the reason I asked lwt my most recent question which has remained unanswered.

The post with misinformation like Murmur's post that you cited? So you want to keep those kinds of posts? How is that productive?

Yes, that's the problem. Even now, you don't understand why your use of language and choice of words riled people up and derailed this thread. And I am not talking about the CFD comments you made.  SMH.

Does it matter if it's productive or not?  There is misinformation in these threads.  We try to correct them and are called trolls for doing so.  Among other things.  If you want to correct any misinformation, fine.  But we'll be doing the same if we see it.  This isn't a case of "we're better than you, so you can't come here and correct us".  Like I said, I'm playing by YOUR rules.

What wording in my question riles you or anyone up? I've made no targeted personal attacks to any humans. I'm certainly not going to apologize because my technical  questions are met with silence.

If a feature is touted as ground breaking (be it by fans or marketing departments) and then hardly gets used, then yeah, I'm going to use adjectives like "hot air".

The very first post in Murmur's thread that you brought up was misinformation. Why do you support that?

And if you correct misinformation, that's fine. But do it in a civil and respectful way.

So first of all, don't call the entire CFD feature "hot air." That is disrespectful and it does rile people up, here in the MSFS forum. If you choose to use wording like that in the XP forum, you have more leeway there. But this is the MSFS forum, and that is disrespectful.

Secondly, like I said, don't use phrasing like M$F$ fan, M$, or M$F$ here in the MSFS forum.  Be cognizant of where you are posting. This is not the XP forum, this is the MSFS forum.
