November 7, 20223 yr There is the Flight1 BN2B Islander available at Flight 1. It is an FSX Native model but goes into P3DV5 via the installer without any problems. No issues flying this one in the sim or any part of it. It comes with extensive livery collection and you can find more in the various sim libraries. Flight1 have also made available a Damage Mod that is a guage developed to allow you to set realistic operational and engine parameters etc if you want realism. This model performs handles and flies just like the real aeroplane did. Caveat to all of this I actually have several thousand hours in the real BN2 (several decades ago now) so you get to know this aeroplane like an old shoe - still remember the beast favourably, A great STOL and truly STOL aeroplane with airline certified engine out performance. The only drawback was they win the noisiest aeroplane award - they were shockers. I helped the developer of the damage mod get it right! I tried the Black Box version but formed the view that the Flight 1 version was far superior. The Black Box version I am afraid just does not cut it for me! I then found the Flight 1 version. Now do I fly it much - not really just there for fun for me these days. Here is a shot from P3DV5 of the BN-2B in the colours of the Falkland Islands Operator. Islanders were the butt of many a joke - such as 20,000 rivets flying in loose formation or the best that British Rail ever produced. Seriously they built thousands of them and most are still flying somewhere - simple robust and once you learn to fly them properly they are an amazing STOL aeroplane. Yeah the Flight 1 installer is a bit of a mystery but it worked fine for me. I only bought it when I got P3DV5 and then tried the Black Box version which I thought was terrible looked good from the promo in MSFS but not so in P3D. From memory it all goes into the main P3D folder but I then worked up an xml and moved it to the addon folder - no problems with that either. There is only one major issue the original KLN90 GPS does not work in P3D but I did find some detailed info on how to fix it and get it working in P3D but sorry I cannot remember where that was now! Nearly forgot there is a great forum fun by Flight 1 should answer any questions one may have: https://www.simforums.com/forums/bn2-islander-forum_forum43.html Edited November 7, 20223 yr by coastaldriver additional information
