Remove co-pilot avatar in RV-14

Featured Replies

I bought Simworks' RV-14 from MSFS's marketplace and for whatever reason it comes with a co-pilot that I just can't get rid off. The thing is, I fly almost exclusively in VR and I found having an avatar sitting right next to me (almost literally due to how real everything feels in VR) is just creepy and drives me nuts.

I tried setting the weight of co-pilot in W&B to 0lb but he/she is still there. I don't have such copilot problem with any other planes, say 172 etc. I don't think this RV-14 comes with any configuration tool either. So how do I get rid of this copilot thing? Thanks a lot!

If you bought it in the marketplace there is nothing you can change. If you really love it then buy it again from the developer and you can remove the co-pilot permanently by changing a value in the flight-model.cfg.

Can you not set the weight for the copilot to zero in the loading screen?

It seems for the OP this doesn't work. On all my aircraft I remove the co-pilot weight from the flight-model.cfg so I never have to do it in game.

Hmmm, and is the flight model cfg not editable?

Not if you bought it in the Marketplace.

This has been a long time bug.

In order to remove the copilot it must be done in the toolbar's weight menu (not the preflight aircraft menu) and the value must be input at "0.0" and not just "0".

If this doesn't work then you just have a Marketplace version issue...good luck.

Yes, this trick, setting copilot weight to "0.0" not "0" works! Thank you! I'm not sure, but put "0.0" in preflight W&B might also work, but I need to test more to be sure.

Thanks for all the comments. I can't believe buying from Maketplace actually is a disadvantage in terms of having access to cfg file.

Yup I can't stand encrypted files, it may deter piracy but for the honest customers spending their hard earned money who just want to make a few simple tweaks and fixes to aircraft tuning/CFGs here and there .Marketplace encryption is a huge a turn off.
