MSFS 2020

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Sine the recent sim update my MSFS now randomly freezes loading the screen after pressing the Fly Now button, it always stops about a 1/3 rd on the Blue bar

The whirly thingy in the corner stops and all I can do is use the task manager to quit,,,  .

This happens to me and has done long before the latest update too.

I think it seems to be related to scenery loading. Strangely at some airports if I change the gate then try again it loads ok. I also found that deleting a recent scenery mod I have installed allows me to load that airport again and everything is ok.

I used to think that this happened because there was something wrong with the aircraft or the scenery I was trying to load.

Now I immediately run Windows Taskmanager to end Flight Simulator, and when I try to startup the simulator again, I often get a blue dialog saying that Flight Simulator isn't connected and can' t load. Eventually if I keep hitting the try again button it starts up again.

So it seems more like a connection problem with the Asobo/Microsoft server.

A topic title with a description of what it contains may garner a few more responses. After all, this is already the MSFS 2020 sub-forum.😉 (Not that it's anything like the first time a topic title has been unilluminating!).

Anyhoo, it's not always easy to know what is causing the hanging or imperceptibly slow progress bar but as said, some sceneries can certainly take some time to load, as can some complicated aircraft during their first use after installation. Likewise, I'd agree server issues can have the same effect. I have ocassionally had to terminate the sim with Task Manager, though thankfully not too often.

Hope you get to the bottom of it.
