You need to edit the parking position. The position of the indicator is dependent on the position of the marshaller/VDGS. I believe standard distance is about 20 m.

Yikes--this happens with all gates I've arrived in to, at all different airports.   Does that mean I need to edit every single parking position?  Or is this a one-time edit for this particular plane?

For every gate, I'm afraid. If it happens consistently with a particular aircraft it's probably best to set up a custom cockpit view for parking. Alternatively, use just the marshaller or VGDS for guidance (they usually stay in view in my experience).

Undercarriage lever a bit sticky was it, Sir?

Thanks Johan def not going to customize every gate as I fly all over to different gates!  I've been using the marshal which is good enough.  I do another other question if you will:  "This parking is too small for your aircraft!"   This happens more than 50% of the time for me so far.   I'm at an official gate for Heavy planes at KSFO, and out she blurts again, This parking is too small.  Every time the OSD opens the same message announces and what's weird is:  GSX still works fine in this scenario.  Here is where I am parked now.  Is there anything I can do to stop the silly announcement (it's silly because it repeats every time I open the OSD, and especially because it doesn't matter anyway GSX still functions well despite this)?

There is an option "ignore wingspan when parking" in the GSX Settings screen that does just that. Again this really just shows that many MSFS airport layouts were poorly designed.

Great! Thank you so much for that!

It's not weird.

We lost so much time trying to explain to users that too many airports out there are badly designed, and users keep saying it was annoying having to fix every parking spot with the GSX customization, that in this version, we changed what was originally a blocking message ( preventing you to use the parking until you fixed it ), into a warning that would still let you use the parking but, without a warning, how you could even suspect there might be a problem ?

And yes, the Global option "ignore wingspan when parking", which is valid everywhere, is if you don't even want to hear the warning anymore.

Thank you Sir!  You've done a fabulous job with this despite MSFS' less than perfect environment to try make it work well within so thank you I'm really enjoying it.  Here's a thought:  I don't mind the warning one time that is okay.  If you could simply put some logic in that said, "If user initiate services despite being given the warning, then stop repeat warnings when bringing up the GSX window dialogue.  That would let the user suspect something might not behave correctly but not subject them to multiple same warning messages which of course is arguably not necessary, serves no purpose but to annoy.  Also, is there a way to turn the volume down for the warnings, BUT keep the volume up for communications from ground crew?

Seriously--thanks again I like it and hope it continues to improve as able but already it's very good!

Cheers
