December 6, 20223 yr Since it's December - A lot of simmers will be wanting to do winter flights and of course fly to the official airport of Santa himself! MK-Studios have released a small update to EFRO today. Quote Right in time for Christmas, MK-Studios has issued a small update for their Rovaniemi airport. The update adds some effects for cold weather, as well as some changes to winter objects. Certainly both welcome changes considering the time of the year. Changelog Conditional visibility added for winter objects, Smoke FX added for cold weather, Glass improvements, General fixes and cleanup. Almost 12 months later ... previously on sale at just over £8 (may have been prior to the update) but currently £13 on Orbx... alternative, freeware version suffers from terrain issues (don't wish to install additional mods to fix those issues). So, big question... in the absence of any recent reviews, is the 'updated' payware version worth the current price? i9-12900K 3.20GHz | Z690 Hero | 64Gb DDR5 5200MHz | RTX3090 O24G | 2TB Firecuda 530 M.2 | RM1000x | H170i ELITE | Corsair 7000D | Samsung Neo G9 | TrackIR | ButtKicker | HC Bravo | TM TCA Boeing Yoke & TCA Sidestick | TM TPR Pedals | Logitech Multi/Radio Panels | WinWing FCU1/EFIS/MCDU/PAP3MAG/PFP3N/PFP7 | Win 10 | MSFS 2024 | (rev. 08/2025)

Still think it's worth it for the event Edited November 14, 20232 yr by ErichB

Yeah, I was thinking that too... I've done the flights now using the default airport but have decided to buy the payware the next time it's discounted. Sometimes when we feel underwhelmed by new payware, we should perhaps stop to consider just how much better even the most basic renditions are when compared to the default version. i9-12900K 3.20GHz | Z690 Hero | 64Gb DDR5 5200MHz | RTX3090 O24G | 2TB Firecuda 530 M.2 | RM1000x | H170i ELITE | Corsair 7000D | Samsung Neo G9 | TrackIR | ButtKicker | HC Bravo | TM TCA Boeing Yoke & TCA Sidestick | TM TPR Pedals | Logitech Multi/Radio Panels | WinWing FCU1/EFIS/MCDU/PAP3MAG/PFP3N/PFP7 | Win 10 | MSFS 2024 | (rev. 08/2025)

Can't bear any default autogen airport. Payware and handcrafted airports are what create immersion. For me, any great scenery no matter where it's located, is worth picking up. Very appreciative that Microsoft has bought in various developers like GayaSim, NZA Sim and WombiiActual, among others to bring us airports I'd never normally consider to fly to/from. Lots of hops to be had around the Nordic countries now with handcrafted EFIV, ENLK, EKRN, ESSA and payware options like MK-Studios' EFHK and EFRO.
