There is a thriving market for used Samurai cars in Utah, Idaho, and Oregon. Many of them are prized for their winter performance potential. A popular pastime is to turn them into "rock crawlers" by lifting them 12 to 16 inches, lower the gear ratios and use larger tires. Fr. I gather they were dealing with an infamous hill too, that always causes issues when it snows. Exactly this. There's no way that *only* fresh snow causes this lack of traction. What scares me is the number of people in both videos standing well within the potential sliding distance of a 1 - 2.5 ton vehicle and thinking, 'I can get a great shot for my YouTube / Instagram / TikTok if I get really close'. I would go 4 wheeling with guys who had Blazers and Broncos. I used to like driving between two trees those 'giants' couldn't fit through. It was a wonderful little car. Very durable. Once, about a thousand miles after a lube job the transmission started making funny noises. Found out that the place I had taken it to drained the transmission and the guy forgot to refill it. They paid for a new transmission. It was a Japanese Jeep. Can't print here what they really called it. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.
December 16, 20223 yr I normally drive a 4WD pickup, but borrowed my Lady's 2WD sedan. I went around a curve on a mountain highway and spun 180 degrees. Three seconds earlier I was heading East, now West. I pulled over to the side of the road to catch my breath and was then entertained by other cars approaching, about one every two minutes. Half of them also spun around. My 4WD vehicle would have placidly plowed right on through without any issue. The local State police typically put out their normal signs: Chains Required Except for 4WD Vehicles. The location was over a small bridge. The open space below the bridge provides no warmth from the Earth. So the roadbed directly over the bridge freezes and is slippery. No other spots along the highway are slippery, so the cars just speed along, until they hit that one short patch of ice. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel.
