While checking an airport at night, I realised that no AI aircraft has the above lights while taxiing.

Is this valid ? I mean, no such lights in P3Dv5.3 ?

No, all are manually installed, no AI program - no default AI.

To answer your question, no it isn't valid, there is a problem somewhere. What aircraft have you installed,which specific lights are missing, did you install the relevant effects files into the correct folder?

If you mean the main P3D effects folder, yes.

 

Do your AI aircraft have wingtip navigation (green and red) and fuselage beacon (red) lights active?

Yes, they do. I only see landing/taxi lights in FAIB Airbuses (faint but exist) and in AIG A330s (fully working).

By the way, since you are AIRLP beta tester, are they out of business ? As I turned to their software to solve the issue, installed it, it did not carry out any AI scan, asked for support 3 days ago, but no reply.

I was about to suggest purchasing AI Lights Reborn Professional Edition! However, if there is something wrong with the rendering of the default lights on the AI planes, then it may affect what AILRP is able to do. Raul (Simbol) is extremely good with respect to support, so hopefully he will be able to help you. Where did you send your support request?

What could that "something wrong" ? Where to look at ?

Is it absolutely required to have an AI package or AIRLP can work well with my AI setup ? You see, I don't want to get involved with packages and/or AI programs.

Another thing is that I absolutely don't want to lose TrafficToolBox, as it is a very useful tool for AI traffic. AIRLP growls to delete from add-on.cfg.

I do not use any AI traffic software. My AI database is custom built from lots of freeware models, and AILRP works perfectly with it! I am sure that Simbol will contact you shortly regarding your support request.

Traffic Toolbox (TTB) works with any AI. With 5.3, the location of TTB has changed on the P3D UI (under Dev Tools). I use it along with Ultimate Traffic.

I am on holiday leave with the family. You are installing custom AI traffic and I suspect you are not using the .XML method required by AILRP. All AI traffic must be installed using the add-on.xml method in order for AILRP to detect the models, if you are doing your custom and you used the old simobject.cfg method, these will be ignored by AILRP.

The add-on.xml method was created by LM back in P3D V4 and it is the new way to install simobjects and accordingly the one used by AILRP to detect AI Models. If you check my forums, there are some steps there how to move your custom AI traffic outside of the P3D main folder and install it using the add-on.xml method. This is the reason why using AIGM is recommended, to avoid all these issues and problems.
