Aircraft not lined up at gates properly.

Featured Replies

Ok, so I'm running P3D5.3 whenever I load into the sim, the front of the plane is always, either inside the terminal, hangar or in the grass, same with the AI birds that are parked. These are all stock airports BTW: The taxiway and runway markings are correct and lined up, but the aircraft is not parked on the "T". If I Shift+P back or Slew back to put the nose gear on the T like it should be, the plane is in the right spot and the spacing is correct. However, I've noticed that some of the other ground markings at the parking spots aren't lined up correctly. Such as on Cargo aprons, some have the white "outline" of the plane, and it's been shifted forward into a building or the grass.

I have MegaSceneryEarth v3 Indiana and Kentucky, and Chicago X installed. But it's happening everywhere, KCVG, KIND, KHUF, KDTW, KPDX, even at the default spawn in of Randolph Air Force Base.

I will add, if I load in on a runway, it's lined up properly...

This is usually because there are at least two conflicting versions of the same airport being loaded. Does MegaScenery Earth include its own AFD files (possibly to correct the alignment when using the photoscenery)?

If it's not two airports conflicting, e.g. default is still loaded under the addon scenery, it may be just a very bad aligned afcad. I fix almost every airport I buy and share the improved afcad on my website. If it's not there I still may have an upgraded afcad yet not published. Just give us some information, which airport, what product and some screenshots.

OS=WIN11 Home, Sim=P3D5 5.3 (P3D4 and FSX for install reasons)
Addons=ORBX, ASCA, AS, TOGA and tons of sceneries, aircraft

No, Megascenery doesn't have AFD files. I have the lower 48 completely covered by this.

Gigabyte x670 Aorus Elite AX MB; AMD 7800X3D CPU; Deepcool LT520 AIO Cooler; 64 Gb G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO DDR5 6000; Win11 Pro; P3D V5.4; 1 Samsung 990 2Tb NVMe SSD: 1 Crucial 4Tb MX500 SATA SSD; 1 Samsung 860 1Tb SSD; Gigabyte Aorus Extreme 1080ti 11Gb VRAM; Toshiba 43" LED TV @ 4k; Honeycomb Bravo.

I assume that you do not have any ORBx regions or Open LC products installed, Jason?

It is bad parking spot positioning in the AFCAD for that airport as mentioned above.  There are quite a few, even payware "enhanced", airport scenery in my collection that I have had to use ADE to readjust the spots to be more accurate.  Also, I sometimes use GSX to fine tune parking spot positioning for proper alignment and stop location for arrival at a particular gate.

I wish airport scenery creators would take the extra bit of time to at least make sure the parking spot is properly aligned. Of course that would more than likely warrant an increase in price for the scenery.

My specs:  AMD Ryzen 5 5600X @ 3.7 GHz, 32 GB 3200MHz DDR4, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 12 GB, 2TB SAMSUNG EVO Plus SSD M2, 2TB WD Black Gaming SSD M2, 8TB WD Black Gaming HDD, 4TB WD Black Gaming Ext HDD, Windows 10, X-Plane 12 + large quantity of 3rd party addons scenery & aircraft. Honeycomb Alpha & Bravo, Thrustmaster TFRP. It's an older machine but gets the job done quite nicely - smooth with no stutters!

This is happening in other airports aside from those affected by the MSE and as was pointed out, it doesn't have AFD files. It's happening ALL over the country, even in airports that have no Add-ons anywhere remotely close to them.....and as I'm typing this I suddenly realize that the first thing I installed after I installed P3D over a year ago was an Updated Airports add-on from Avsim......🤦‍♂️

Let me go try something real quick....

UPDATE: that appears to have been the problem.....🤦‍♂️ Completely forgot I had installed that.

Ok so now my question is, is there somewhere in the hierarchy of scenery that that should be installed to stop the conflicts?

Is this the one that has 500+ updated airports for P3Dv5?

 Possibly, it's by Mike Teague.

Yeah, kudos to the guy who does all that work for hundreds of airports.

Unfortunately, those AFCADS have issues like parking not being connected to the taxiways, so planes won't taxi, and poorly positioned parking, like too close to buildings as you described.
