Sim won't start suddenly.

Featured Replies

Suddenly the sim won't start for me. It's stuck on Syncing data. Any help would be appreciated.

Man, there is so much information out there, it really gets overwhelming. But in case it's the same thing I was experiencing recently, simply moving the community folder to my desktop AND renaming it worked. The program will then create a new community folder when you start the sim. You can later move all the stuff from your renamed folder back into the new community folder, no problem.

What also worked as a temporary fix was diconnecting wifi while trying to load the sim, then maybe 30 seconds later popup window and continue in offline mode. Once the sim has started you can turn wifi back on, go to options, data settings, and switch back to online mode.

You can google this as it has happened to others and even me.

Try this....

\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache

and delete “SceneryIndexes” folder. It will be regenerated after next game launch. This normally unblocks the sync loop if you can´t get rid of it.

If that doesn't work try launching the sim without your ethernet cable connected to your PC.  Then re-connect and try again.

Interesting. Mine CTD on nearly every flight on a reinstall. The reinstall was done because of CTD.  it does it on final approach pretty much every time. Something is really wrong here and I have no idea what it is.

Get a wired connection for 'optimal' results.
