February 9, 20233 yr Hello, Last day or so began having issues with PMDG 737-800. The 2 issues I'm keep having is that the Autopilot dont work/engage and also that i keep getting failures when I have them turned off. Yes I have downloaded the last 2 updates. Has anyone have any issues similar to the ones I'm having? Thanx for any info on how to fix it. PS. I have gone back 3 times to recheck nothing has improved or changed...........

Did you use active pause (intentionally or not)? This will wreck the autopilot recently. Also don't use custom panel states from before the update. February 9, 20233 yr The AP won't engage if there is pressure on a control. Maybe try increasing null zones on you stick & rudders just to see if that helps? i9-10850K, ASUS TUF GAMING Z490-PLUS (WI-FI), 32GB G.SKILL DDR4-3603 / PC4-28800, GIGABYTE RTX5080 16GB WF OC 3 FAN running 3440x1440
February 9, 20233 yr That autopilot behavior can be turned off in the options if you prefer. It's realistic that the autopilot won't engage if the plane is out of trim or there is pressure on the controls, but given the variety of sim hardware we all use, it can be helpful to turn that option off in the PMDG. Might be worth a try. Andrew Crowley
February 9, 20233 yr I have it turned off because there are two cats here that like to jump up on my desk and scratch their chins on the top of the joystick. Nothing worse than leaving the room and coming back to find out that your cat trashed your flight by turning off the autopilot. LOL easy solution is to cat proof your joystick 🙂 I7-8700k,Corsair h1101 cooler ,Asus Strix Gaming Intel Z370 S11 motherboard, Corsair 32gb ramDD4,, gtx 1080ti Card, RM850 power supply Peter kelberg
February 11, 20233 yr I have noticed when I take the autopilot I used to hit z twice but it isn't working anymore. So I had to set up a button to turn the autopilot off only, and i still have to hit it twice or it wont turn the auto pilot off. Messed me up on final a few times in VATSIM. It definitely is not working the same after the last update.
February 11, 20233 yr I was actually thinking of getting the 800 (dont own any PMDG products). I think it just went through an update but I could not find any info or log on what was done. Is there a link anywhere to find out about this last update? Still on the fence. Ground steering improved and autobrake behaviour improved. 7th of February (or 8th?) was that latest update. For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord.
