February 25, 20233 yr Greetings, FS 2020 has been completely INOP and on CTD on startup status since FEB 1. Twenty four days later, countless hours have been spent with experts from MS Zendesk, Xbox and Windows Support as well a PC expert who built my custom PC who have all been unable to solve my issue of CTD on start-up caused by the inability to authenticate MS/Xbox account credentials. MSFS has been re-installed four times and a complete Win10 re-install has also been accomplished. All efforts have failed. My latest zany idea (and perhaps the final idea) is to completely un-install and re-purchase, perhaps as a new persona. The original purchase was through the MS Store which involves Xbox. If I were to purchase via STEAM, does that by-pass Xbox and the authentication issue? Any pro/con STEAM comments will be much appreciated.
February 25, 20233 yr "the inability to authenticate MS/Xbox account credentials" Are you able to sign in/out of your MS store account? February 25, 20233 yr I think you are still going to need to sign in with MS/Xbox either way. I am on Steam, but my main menu has my XBox name.

February 25, 20233 yr I confirm the Steam version still needs an Xbox identification, so purchasing the sim again in Steam would not solve your issue. 😕 Edited February 25, 20233 yr by Daube

February 25, 20233 yr MS Store/DVD Version: Your primary Windows account can be another account; however, the MS Store and all Xbox related apps would need to be signed into the MS/Xbox account used to purchase MSFS. This was already accomplished as part of a multi-checklist from Zendesk. Many believe the overall problem to be that of MS/Xbox and Azure servers.
