XP12 ZIBO MOD WIN11 install problem

Recommended Posts

Posted

I purchased XP12
Installed ok on my WIN11 PC
Tested default planes ok

I download the ZIBO 737 for XP12 (full product) zip v 3.55 and the Patch v3.9, and unzipped them.

After install I selected ZIBO737 for a flight test and I got a complete PC frees up when “preparing world” during start up.
Had to reboot PC.

I seen posts mentioning loading the default Cessna first.
Why I do not know?

Next I started XP12 and loaded the Cessna then switched to the ZIBO.

Now the ZIBO737 loads with a bunch of message boxes about “airfoil selfcheck” (screeenshot).

I uninstalled XP12 and then installed XP12 and Zibo on another WIN11 PC and got the same results?

I cannot determine what is going wrong at this point.

Note:
I have also have XP11 and Zibo737 for XP11 and it installed and is working ok on my other WIN11 PC.

Looks like the 3.9 patch has not installed correctly.

start afresh .... install the full 3.55 version ... start wit the c172 and then the Zibo Mon. if it runs :-

then put the zip patch file ver 3.9 in the ZibMod folder and then unzip it.

best use 7Zip.

regards bob

ps you need to be up to date with XPlane 12

Bob,

Thanks for the follow up.

I followed your instructions with 7ZIP and took screenshots.

I had done it that way prior (reviewing past notes/screenshots) and now I got the same results in these two screenshots just taken for your rview.

Just Xplane12 + ZIBO I got a full PC Freeze when “preparing World”.

Rebooted PC.

Xplane12 + Cessna all ok.

Then changed aircraft to ZIBO and got  “Be Advised message about Sound Bank and VC cockpit/gauges textures all wrong? Screenshots:

Regarding the 2nd screen shot, I have had that happen and resolved with a copying the up to date fmod files in, make sure all the Fmod files are in plus including the  'surround' folder. (you can compare them with the original 3.55 download)

As to the 1st screen shot, is this with a cold and dark start up with the IRS alignment done.

regards bob  (I will check tomorrow how you get on , (bed time)

The Cessna and Zibo737 were both KDTW on runway with engines running.

I am a little bit not understanding “copying files” you mentioned? Tomorrow will be good to have a look at that.

My XP12 version number is 12.0.3.0 (12 03 r1)
What is your version number?

Do you have to start with the Cessna first then change to the ZIBO737?

Do you know if the Zibo developer is still working on updates ?

My ver is 12.04b3

for ZiboMod patch ver 3.9 you need Xplane Public Beta 12.04b2 or later.

You need to run the xplane installer and tick the box ' check for new Beta's )

I have been getting since yesterday, with 3.8 already and now also with 3.9, the sim hanging if I try to load a situation with the Zibo in the first place.

Looking at the LOG I see

LOG reads in the last lines...

but this never happened before, although I did read at some threads that we should start by loading a default LR aircraft before loading the Zibo(?)

Bob,

Thanks for the support.
Much appreciated.

I had never seen that information prior.
Where did you see it?

I got XP12 v 12 04 b3 now.

Started XP12, Zibo737 and PC froze at Preparing world.

Next test.

Started XP12 , Cessna, changed aircraft to Zibo737 and it loaded ok.

Do you have to start with the Cessna then switch to Zibo737?

Note:
I assumed that just now installing XP12 I got the newest version?
And, when XP12 starts it will notify if a newer version is available ... at least it did when I initially purchased the early access version.

I had also tried patch 3.8 and 3.9.

Both failed.

See Bob's last post and my reply about current XP12 version with patch 3.9.

What I can't figure is why this didn't happen, even with 3.8, and all of a sudden started ...

Its on the xplane.org forum :- "Zibo B737-800 modified in X-Plane 12"  from "skymatix" one of the Zibo team'

"Do you have to start with the Cessna then switch to Zibo737?",  yes its recommended in skymatic's installation guide.

bob

ps  Also note its best to do a cold and dark start for the ZiboMod to configure the pay load and fuel as you can not use xplane's own weight and balance drop down menu.

Bob,
Thanks for the follow up and additional Cold and Dark information.

Zibo B737-800 modified in X-Plane 12" from "skymatix" one of the Zibo team'

Ok, I see the topic but it is 92 pages long and I had visited it prior but did not read it all.
So, the Zibo install information could have been a text file in the Zips as part of the Zibo product download and product patches.

I only read the first page of the manual .. basically install the ZIPS and go fly!

To your knowledge, with XP12, are any other aircraft requiring loading Cessna first?

Is the Zibo developer still active in the project?

None that I know of but I do it out of habit from the old FSX days when it was needed for the likes of the carenado  planes. I also have some Areobask and REP mods that use the 'Skunkcrafts' updater which need to be updated from a default plane ie the C172 so I do a check for recent updates.

As regards to the the Zibo Developer from the activity on the support forum Zibo is very much day by day modifying and updating.

Skymatic does quite a few streams on youtube in which Zibo and some RW pilots join in and comment.
