@orlaam I found those plates just after posting my previous message. I'm about to try this again so hopefully I can report back my first success. I had gotten used to Airbus and its taking me a bit to get to grips with the Boeing.

Conveniently timed for you, the first 10 minutes of Emmanuel's new video walks through the FMCs of the 737 and A320 showing how they are basically using the same logic.

@MDFlier That is perfectly timed. Ill be watching this for sure.

Flight is in progress, climing to FL340 as I type this and just broke thru the clouds. Love the snow covered ground beneath. I think I have this one in the bag. 🙂

Flight was a success!! Took me a minute to figure out how to get, A Pilots Life to register the flight was over. It was as simple as shutting the aircraft down. I'm pleased I finally did it. I did have one rocky moment during approach where LNAV and APP lights cut out and I thought I had done something wrong again. Realised it still showed I was on GS and decending at a nice rate. Feeling a bit better about my flow now. Just have to refine it as I fly more.

It is normal behavior for the LNAV and APP lights to extinguish once the GS has been captured and you are executing the approach. Just check the annunciator to see that GS is captured and it reads SINGLE CH to confirm that all is well.

Regarding the plane seeming to not follow flight guidance modes:. In case no one has yet mentioned it, be sure all (all, as in 100%) of the MSFS "assistance" options are off.  The PMDG will not work correctly if any of them are on.

Other then that, have fun!  It is really the most deeply simulated aircraft available in the sim; speaking as someone who flies 737s for a living, it's pretty crazy what they've accomplished.
