Navaid Morse Code Identifiers Working?

Featured Replies

I can't seem to hear the Morse code Identifiers for Navaids like VORs or Localizers.  I have tried a few different a/c including the C152/172.  If the identifiers are working and there is a general setting I need to turn on to hear them I can't seem to find it.

Thanks,

Al

EDIT:  The Morse code identifiers work. Turns out the volume level is so low I had to put on headphones to hear it. And I don't have the best hearing anymore.  🥴

I remember complaining about this when I was in my Flysimware C414 phase. It works but you can barely hear it. It's not loud enough to actually identify it.

Same here, I hear them only after I land and things are a bit quieter. I actually know Morse code and like to verify that it is correct but i cannot hear it in most cases.

This seems to be a general sim issue. I have tired a number of default aircraft and they all seem to have the same very low ident volume level.

I can’t hear them on PMDG 737s, not even faintly, although I’ve not tried with the aircraft shut down and quiet!

With the PMDG 737 you can see the identifier on the PFD after you set the ILS Freq.

Fortunately, all of the common GPS units (e.g., GNS530, GTN750), as well as the G1000/3000,  also display the navaid identifier. In a basic non-GPS aircraft like the C152, however, you are still dependent on the audio identifier.

Oh yes I know. But I happened to be messing around with the audio panel the other day and noticed this issue. Should still work even if not used as much as it used to be!
