March 24, 20233 yr After much deliberation, I decided to get a 4090 - Luckily at MSRP! Unfortunately, my wonderful and beautiful G-Sync monitor broke. So I'm back to my regular 60Hz monitor without HDR and all the fancy stuff. I've been really looking forward to trying out the Frame Generation, even though I got this card primarily for VR, pancake is where it all started, so back to pancake we shall return. At first, looking through many forums, there was no real guide on how to set this up properly without micro stuttering and screen tearing....then I found this Reddit post...and hooooolllyyyy $hitballs, it's incredible. Here's the gist of the post: At EGLL, FENIX, real weather, PSXT with 78 planes, dusk: At EGLL, FENIX, real weather, No Traffic, dusk: At EGLL, FENIX, real weather, Vatsim 10 Planes, dusk: Edited March 24, 20233 yr by V1ROTA7E AMD 9950X3D | 64 GB RAM | RTX 5090 FMR: 747 FO, 757/767 CAPT, 737 Check Airman Current 777 CAPT
March 25, 20233 yr that's not in VR though? 60fps wit FG = ON is 30 fps without FG, that wouldn't be unusual? I guess, technically the framerate is 30, but it doesn't feel or look like it at all. It feels and looks like 60 FPS...it's so good that I brought out the Tobii again. Genuinely impressed. If I'm going to fly in VR, then I just revert my settings back to normal. VR is great, but can be fatiguing sometimes. I fly in VR typically under 1 hour at a time. Do you notice any of these on your setup? 747 Captain for the last 39 years, and still learning.

There is quite a bit of headroom with the 4090, and the GPU is only running at around 30-60%, although I am only running 1440p, not sure about 4K. I was under the impression that DLSS is on from reading DLSS Quality on in game settings. On my PC if I have that issue with DLSS. I'll try tomorrow with the RTSS, right now I'm also on TAA for that exact reason. Much appreciated. 747 Captain for the last 39 years, and still learning.

What I can say from my observations on 3 PCs, each will show different results in different settings. I used as was suggested with Scanline Sunc at -140, Frametime graph on, and played around with FPS limit up to the point where I get a solid line (no ups/downs or spikes as to call it) resulting in no stutters, perfect smooth experience. To be honest you probably might spend a good amount of time to find that sweet spot. In my case, I stay away from DLSS with DX12. Apparently, this game is still not properly optimized, yet. 747 Captain for the last 39 years, and still learning.
