Spartan 7W "Executive" Work in Progress

Featured Replies

Laurie, thank you for noticing. Perhaps "darkness" isn't the word.. the intensity is fine.. in an otherwise dark environment.. that's ok. I think what I'm referring to is that the resolution of the bezels around the lights seem fuzzy to me in that latest video. Everything else is crystal clear, but the "bezels" are fuzzy.. that's what prompted the "cartoony" remark. The indicator and the light lens just don't seem as clear or as high a resolution as the rest of the panel. Otherwise the rest of the panel looks fantastic. Did the developers double check the starter switch. Been awhile since I've seen a push and it holds automatically. I would think that one would have to "press and hold" until the engine starts. Just my observation. I may totally be off-base here. But the aircraft just screams upper class. I pray that the systems and FD are as good as the rest. Beautiful work! Thank you...If I ever won the lottery, It'd be tough to decide whether to get a Spartan or the Staggerwing. Probably both if it's a decent jackpot.😂

Looks like a nice airplane, I like the design, will give it a try 🙂

Roman, God bless him, would have loved this.

The Spartan 7W just dropped at Sim Market. https://secure.simmarket.com/hcg-digital-arts-ltd.-spartan-7w-executive-msfs.phtml

Been waiting for this but a little uneasy as the developer states he'll be "out of pocket"  for next three months and it's now only on Sim Market. I hope other vendors will pick this up.  Anyone try this yet?

Hi,
He only means he has some real life commitments to attend to over the next few months.
But will be around, contactable and actively updating if issues arise. Any major issues will still be attended to promptly.

Really good to know. The developer has created such a beauty, I'm sure he won't abandon it now after so much hard work. Does anyone know if it's available anywhere other than SimMarket?

I think I'll wait for the Inibuilds one. Their external model looks more accurate.

Well,  I'm surprised that there's very little chat about this airplane. I think it was released Monday and I took the plunge and bought it seeing how no one else is. After three days flying I can say it's a pleasant, nice airplane reminiscent of days of old. The airplane is very good in many respects, needs improvements in others. The exterior is very good, and interior is decked out in period fabrics. The panel, hmm, could use an upgrade to MSFS expectations, BUT, the panel is functional if not slightly hard to read with these ancient eyes. Flight handling needs some work and I wasn't able to perform stalls and falls without slipping into uncontrollable spin.

Ground handling needs some work as ground friction or ground inertia seems very high. Takes a lot of power to start rolling and because the tail wheel animation is backward that may be contributing to seemingly high ground friction.

The navigation systems work fine, follows the magenta line and GS very well. The sounds are excellent as there's plenty of deep, throaty tones to please any round engine aficionado. I don't regret buying the plane as I'm hopeful the developer will address these issues. It is apparent that this is a labor of love for the developer and it shows. A lot of work has gone into creating this and the documentation accompanying this package is very good and worthy of one's time reading. This plane has the potential to be a truly outstanding product.

Final word: It's flyable with a few niggles and aggravations and could be better, and hopefully it will be BUT listening to that big PW engine growl during a flyby (in replay) is worth the price of admission by itself. Terry

The developer has made the ground handling a top priority to address. It has been brought to my attention that iniBuilds has edited out the Spartan component of their original March 24th announcement.

I basically found the same issues as simtech95382 with a couple\e of others.

I have had the Spartan since its release and have found it a pleasure to fly once airborne. Marvelous for hi speed hand flying and sight-seeing.
I have noticed the following problems.

When opening g the weight and balance window you get a CG warning which cannot be adjusted. This does not seem to affect the flight properties.
It requires almost full throttle to start taxying and the full brakes to slow it down. Basically, mad rush then stop, repeated for the full taxy process.
When you use the GPS you cannot edit the flightplan or use the “Direct To” function.
The Brightness Knobs do not work.
Keep up the great work

If you can walk away it's a good landing

Just had a look myself, and you are right. That's a bit worrying.

Brightness knobs work OK. GPS disregard as I find the same issue on several aircraft.
