SOLVED: Ok, good simmers, found the culprit but I don't understand because I have NOT deleted any key U.S. scenery. A few moments ago I noticed that the 40th Anniversary POIs wasn't installed. I've been to the Content Manager for the past three days, didn't notice this discrepancy. I did notice the WU 2 update, but at least it was installed. I installed the 40th Ann. POI and wahh lahh, the ICAO, the complete grounds AND a very good visual depiction of the WH. SMH, was this just a "Senior Moment". I don't think so, but at least I'm back up enjoying the People's House and departing the South Lawn. 😄

Yes, I did and there was WU 2 that needed an update. All U.S. updates c/w. Thank you for asking.. OK, update: The plot thickens: I downloaded https://flightsim.to/file/42833/white-house-south-lawn-helipad-washington-dc and the response gets more weird. The ICAO KWHH is now recognized, the three markers for the helipad on the South Lawn are still there, there's a new circular drive and fencing added around the South Lawn, but still NO WH structure. Is there a scenery library/object missing? What gives??🤪

The odd fact is the "helipad" with the three markers do show up. But the ICAO ? symbol KWHH is not recognized by the program. Could someone confirm that MSFS does, in fact, recognize it. I don't think I'm dreaming that I read that this is the symbol for this "heliport". Even the POI "flag" for the WH does NOT show, but does for all of the other landmarks in the Vicinity as well as the landmarks are very well depicted. This definitely is a puzzle. Thank you for checking in and offering suggestions. Hopefully perhaps someone may have seen this before and drops in and suggests a clue. I'll try a third party addon and see if that rendition is displayed.

Not sure if I can explain this properly, but I've been using AAOs since the FSX days. In MSFS, if you change from a twin Prop aircraft that incorporates throttle, prop, mixture to say a twin jet that incorporates throttle, speed brake, NWS, one doesn't have to escape out of the flight and go to Control Options and manually select a different profile. One sets up the profile once in AAO and when AAO detects a change of aircraft, the profile is automatically loaded. I've used it to modify the Bravo trim wheel. Default one has to spin it many, many times to get a response in some planes, whereas others a couple of spins is all that's needed... by writing a script and assigning to individual planes, you only have to spin the Bravo wheel as far as you wish because you modified the script for each aircraft. One aircraft, one turn might = 10 turns in aircraft, whereas in another script one turn might = only four. It's a very versatile piece of software. AND, customer support at Lorby's is first rate. Very quick to answer and clarify most issues one might have. Try out the demo... it'll be worth your time.

Greg, I tried both with and without PG on. Strangely, all of the other "monuments" and POIs are displayed most realistically. I have all of the US updates and the US Cities updates. Yes, data is on, but cache is not. I do occasionally get the "bandwidth" notice, but all of the other POIs are displayed in exceptional detail. There's no building, no drawing on the ground.. Nada.. The South Lawn is displayed WITH the landing markers for the helicopter. I understand that the heliport at the WH is KWHH. My installation does not recognize this symbol. Thank you for reaching out.. I think I plowed that ground of Updates/PG already, though.😔

Thank you for the suggestions, but I have disabled all scenery addons, and empty CF, but regarding the helipad, yes, the three markers are there and I can use them, but the physical structure of the WH is not there. Looks like a two dimension place holder. I thought I'd check with a Discovery flight, but realize I have many several Discovery flights of US landmarks, there is NO Washington, DC discovery flight. Strange indeed.

Quick question: Of all the Discovery flights, SFO, New York, etc, I don't see any discovery flight for Washington DC. I did notice that World Update II had an update that I hadn't d/l. I d/l the 2.4Gb pkg and the Mall and corresponding POIs look great...BUT.. no White House and no POI marker either. I also restored the cache in Nvidia, no change. Bizarre.😵

I'll have to check. I usually don't install them to conserve disc space. The strange point, is there was some sort of structure where the WH is supposed to be. Now there's empty space. Just the reflecting pool, pads for the helicopter on South Lawn, and even the EOB across the street from the WH displays as a melted Picasso painting.

Thank you for the tip, but I have been using MSFS with disable cache for months now. However, even though I deleted it in MSFS, I just deleted the cache data in the Nvidia folder. Not sure if I messed things up with that or not. I can try to restore and see.

yes, City Update IX was freely available in the MP. I have all of the other POIs, but not the WH. In Content Mgr, I do not have any CUs uninstalled. I'm puzzled..

Yes, I did and it seems before the update, I had some representation of the structure, but now there's nada. I have the pads for the gear of the helicopter on the South Lawn, but no structure. ☹️

No, not the Gerard Butler movie, but the actual White House in MSFS. Could someone help an old codger and help him find the White House. Now, I worked in Washington, DC fifty years ago, and I remember one could see the Washington Monument from the White House. The Monument is in the sim, the Capital, the Lincoln Memorial , the Smithsonian, the reflecting pool, the South Lawn are also, but NO White House. I downloaded the latest City Update (IX), but not even a PG rendering. Also strange, the helipad, KWHH isn't recognized in MSFS. The POI isn't present either. What did I do? I've disabled all scenery addons in CF. Any suggestions appreciated. TIA.. Terry

Matt, I buy Steam gift cards at Walmart, Game Stop, CVS in denominations of $25, $50, $100. Just Remember, Steam gift cards are NOT Xbox gift cards. Two different things. In fact, you can buy XBox gift cards in grocery stores, not so much Steam cards. If the gamer has a Steam account, and bought MSFS through Steam, then his purchases through the Marketplace will automatically be coordinated through the Steam servers. The servers will tap the gamer's "wallet" for the purchase in the Marketplace. Hope this isn't confusing.

Matt, if the simmer has MSFS on Steam, just buy him Steam gift cards. I've paid for several purchases in MarketPlace with Steam gift cards. If you have Steam, when one selects Purchase, the Steam wallet of the user comes forward and requests confirmation. If you don't have enough funds, then load a gift card into the account. Works like a charm.

At first glance it might seem reasonable compared to the alternatives, but remember, if you don't live in Singapore, expect an additional $180-$200 shipping charge. This unit really had better work great and tell you a bedtime story as well. Not really interested. 😜

Adamski_NZ, excellent summation. After having initial issues, have been flying the glider successfully for several days now. I would like to have a longer tow than just five minutes around the pattern.😆 Terry

That's the issue, the marshaller didn't show up. The activity won't run if the marshaller doesn't show up on the loading screen just before the "FLY NOW" tab. Everything in the glider seemed to work, but no guy on the left wing. Anyways, I disabled all of the scenery libraries and reenabled them one by one. Couldn't find the offending file. Everything is working fine now. Even some of the updated sceneries. I had tried multiple "restarts" but to no avail. The marshaller showed up when I disabled all of the scenery libraries. I enabled them one by one and now the program works with all enabled. Strange happenings. It's really quite an entertaining activity. Thank you Jcomm, I had tried that to full extremes.. but if the marshaller wasn't there, nothing happened..😒 Not sure what happened, but after restarting MSFS over 40 times trying all of the different scenery libraries, all is working well now.

The clue that the C-47 won't start is that the "marshaller" doesn't appear off the left wingtip of the glider. I tried many different configs of the sim and have narrowed it down to something in a scenery library. I deleted all sceneries but let the libraries load and the marshaller still didn't appear. Don't know exactly which one yet, still checking. Thought I'd give a heads up to getting your glider in the air. It's a tough go for anyone who thinks they're a "hot stick". I'll update when I isolate the offending library or libraries. Anyways, good luck and have fun. Terry

After flying for a couple hours, I restarted as I wanted to load different config. from ADL. Hung on "checking for updates". The time sync worked once, another time nothing worked except logging out and back into to the XBox acct. It had to be updated. Afterwards seemed to work ok.

Dave , thank you for reaching out. Sorry to hear of your health issues, but certainly thankful you're back into the game. Just a thought about the "sale" topic. to test the waters, the sale could could be very limited for instance, 72 hours to five days. I think your team might be very pleasantly surprised as how the market may react. Understand your teams' talents need to be compensated, but instead of being rewarded over a period of several months, you might reach your goal in a few days. Just a thought. Anyway, glad you're back and many kudos to you and the team as I still enjoy the Leonardo product in FSX. Best of health to you for a quick recovery...Terry

Don't really understand all of the commotion about loud engine sounds. There's an adjustment in MSFS sound options for engines that work just fine. If the developer tones down the audio levels, then for those people who like it/need it loud have no option. I hope the developer takes that into consideration. You can turn down the audio level, but from the user stand point, we can't increase above what is delivered. The state saving feature would be welcomed as well as being able to import the MSFS FP. Otherwise, this is an excellent product that delivers a great experience.
