AIG traffic settings and FP

Featured Replies

Hi, after a MSFS reinstall i lost my flightplans so i am dowloading them again. I noticed some airliners like Spirit doesnt download and the folder doesnt contain a Spirit flightplan. This happens for alot Airlines. Is this a glitch ? I recall having lots of spirits in vegas.

Also what is MSFS SU12 traffic settings these days with AIG?

I nornally fly on Vatsim and noticed a complete VRM AIG file to match on fltsim.to

Thanks Michael Moe

You probably deleted something important for AIG in the community folder when uninstalling MSFS. I'd recommend deleting the entire AIG Manager folder and redownloading. Next time you uninstall - move the AIG folder out of the community folder. This takes 2 minutes instead of the hours you will now have to re-download every flightplan and every model again.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

My suggestion is to install AIG OCI in a location other than Community directory and use AddonLinker to create a symbolic link in the Community directory. Any time you need to do maintenance with MSFS simply disable AIG with AddonLinker and you won't have to worry about it being deleted/altered by accident.

Thanks will do that , . Strange that it has downloaded about 4gb with models and some flightplans.

I also use AIG for P3DV5 so what is the best way to make a reinstall for MSFS only?

Verify setup doesnt come up with any errors. and i have 330 objects and about 30 flightplans.

Thanks

1) Delete everything AIG related in the community folder ("aig-aitraffic-oci-beta_CVT_" and "aig-aitraffic-oci-beta")
2) Delete the AIG Manager folder, whereever you have it. No "uninstall" necessary, just delete.
3) Redownload the AIG Manager and follow the normal install instructions.

Personally my guess is that by deleting the flightplans in the community folder during the MSFS reinstall, there was created a "gap" between what flightplans AIG Manager considers as "installed" and what is actually installed in the community folder. You might be able to fix this by deleting some cache files in the AIG Manager folder (though I don't know which ones), but I guess it's safer and quicker to just delete it entirely and reinstall.

Everything is back to normal , thank you.

Is it safe to use Addon linker to move the folders away from original community folder to a location of my own choice?

Thanks Michael Moe

There is a move function within AIG Manager. I used it to move my install, but it's been awhile and I don't remember enough of the experience to safely advise how to do it. Maybe Kaiii3 will come back to offer help.

Is there a reason you are still using AIG instead of FSLTL?

should be save, but you can use the "move" option in the AIM settings of OCI as well 😉

1) There's hardly any live traffic at night, that's why. Unless you always fly at the country / continent you live, you will have next to no or very unusual traffic. If I, living in Germany, fly tonight at WSSS (Singapore) with FSLTL it will be empty (= no traffic), because it's like 3 o'clock in the middle of the night over there.

2) AIG still has much more aircraft models and a magnitude (10x?) more airlines and liveries. You will never see a white / generic liveriy with AIG, while this happens very often with FSLTL, especially outside of US / Europe.

Hello everyone, I fully agree with what Mr. Fiorentoni said, I have both installed, both AIG and FSLTL! I also use both depending on when I can fly with MSFS! Both programs are very beautiful. I live in Italy and unfortunately I fly, only in the evening after work. If I had to use FSLTL in the evening to fly to Europe, yes, there is traffic, however, with MSFS landscapes, flying at night means losing all the beauty that its graphics can represent, sometimes yes can do, but then it becomes a bit boring. With AIG we fly in the evening after work, it gives us the possibility of having traffic even by shifting the time of day to early morning, such as dawn, late morning, afternoon, sunset and evening .This is the reason at least for me that I use AIG. Of course I'm hopeful sooner or later to have the same lights (navigation, strobe, landig and taxi light also on the beautiful AIG models like those of FSTL !!!!!!!! !) One more point in favor of AIG is that, as Fiorentoni said, it has many models and also a lot of GA Aviation, Executive!!! This is my humble personal opinion on the two AI Traffic programs!!!
Greetings to all!!!
