May 26, 20233 yr Mostly low n slow in this stunning Waco paint. A VFR flight from KBTV to KPOU. Both airports are very high quality freeware available at the usual place. This trip is about 180 miles - roughly 75 min of flying time with conservative power (about 130 mph but I had a decent tailwind). The weather briefer said to expect MVFR for at least half of the trip. Initially I wanted to stay low but the clouds pushed me too far into terrain so I climbed above them. As the day went on, their tops went higher so I descended back down. This WACO has no GPS (but if you look online you'll find some all glass panels), but I was equipped for IFR if I needed it. It's got dual nav/comms and dme. Starting off at Heritage FBO Untitled-1 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr The Green Mountain Boys must be out on a sortie. I believe the F16s have all been phased out in favor of the F35. Someone might know more though. Untitled-14 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Like I said...not a bad setup. Could use a GNS430W or GTN650Xi though 🙂 Untitled-15 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Just about halfway to our destination Untitled-16 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr I love this new livery - it's very striking Untitled-17 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Glens Falls and Hudson Falls Untitled-18 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Wonder if that farm has a grass strip somewhere.,, Untitled-20 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Pockets of sunshine as I make my way into a hazy Albany, NY Untitled-21 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Interstate 87 bridge Untitled-23 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr ATC was nice enough today to let me fly right over at or above 2000 Untitled-24 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr I'll leave you with a flyby of Downtown Albany...
