June 1, 20233 yr Are joystick settings stored in a file? If yes where is the configuration file located?
June 1, 20233 yr I believe they're stored in the cloud. I use FSUIPC for all of my control assignments, which keeps them in a local file under my control, safe from unruly updates, and transportable. June 1, 20233 yr In the old days of MSFS before the configuration was saved in a cloud there was a folder C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\SystemAppData\wgs\ where the configuration was stored everytime you change a setting in the sim. You could delete the actual files if anything messed up with your joystick settings and use settings from an older date. But I don't know if its possible today with the cloud. June 1, 20233 yr For Steam users, there are local copies under C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\208453332\1250410\remote That's for my installation, numbers might differ for others. I am not sure how they are synchronized with the Cloud, but access data are pretty recent, thus they seem to be. I researched this together with the developer of the tool FS2002 Control which reads off current controls assignments and writes them to a human-readable file. I think there are local copies available for Store users as well, but I don't have a Store installation to verify this. June 1, 20233 yr Author I have Steam installed in C:\Steam. In the "userdata" folder is a bunch of folders with numbers for their folder names. How do I find which folder number to access and which specific input* file is for the keyboard settings? There's a bunch of them: ---- Directory of C:\Steam\userdata 07/02/2022 04:13 PM <DIR> . 07/02/2022 04:13 PM <DIR> .. 12/26/2022 08:58 PM <DIR> 1041239510 03/26/2023 09:29 PM <DIR> 122929185 08/09/2022 10:44 PM <DIR> 1240047947 07/02/2022 04:13 PM <DIR> 260192028 0 File(s) 0 bytes

I opened the file in notepad and found the file. It's the "inputprofile_0256178848" file. Thank you. How do I load or apply the "inputprofile_0256178848" file to MSFS? I copied the file to the remote folder but I can't load them in MSFS. It's not showing up as an option when I select load under MSFS' "Controls Options" for the joystick.

I think you just click on the tab at the top of the page for the controller you want and then click on the arrow below that to change to the profile you want.
