MSFS Releases Ford 4-AT Trimotor, Free For One Week

Featured Replies

In 2017 I flew down to Oshkosh with a friend in my RV. I went for a flight on the Trimotor and remember every second. That crazy interior with a few wooden seats! I was in a window seat beside the incredible Wright radial engine. And now we can re-live the dream in Flight Simulator 2020!

Did you guys get the engine running without Ctrl-E?

  1. Fuel valve open
  2. Bat on
  3. Ign master on
  4. Magneto left both
  5. Prime left about 3 times
  6. Left starter switch on
  7. Press starter

I get some smoke, but no turning prop.

You're doing it wrong. There is a manual inside the aircraft folder with a page about starting the engine. I recommend reading the manual, it's very interesting and it also shows you how to change panels, how to use the Sperry Gyro-Pilot, how to open doors, etc.

I got it done!

Many thanks!!!!

Did anyone try the ADF with the Sperry panel? The ADF needle keeps jumping between the default position and the NDB track position. I'm thinking it may be a bug.

Edit: Decided to do the flight from Key West to Havana on a bad day, it seems. Half way in I can already see the stormy weather over Cuba, dunno if I'm gonna be able to land this thing,,,

Edit2: Yep, nice weather, lol.

Not for me but I hope all you historic aircraft enthusiasts get a lot of enjoyment out of it.

@The Flight Level  I just hopped simulated one in VR yesterday, to see how it feels like. I thought they were joking when I saw those front row seats. You have zero space to put your legs into. Most uncomfortable seating ever. Was that the case in the real thing as well?

Yes, the real thing was very tight. I was in the front seat with extended leg room! Made a YT short for you guys to hear the sound of the engine through a very thin pane of glass.

Wish we had that sound in the addon. Can barely hear the engines inside. And even outside the sound is not good. Hope they fix that.

Great shot you posted with the rain! I will likely make a video on this one. Just wish I'd taken more photos and videos had I known I would start a YT channel. Hopefully, a better sound package will come ASAP.

Here is another shot of the EAA trimotor aircraft cockpit.
