Like hours and hours then a few more hours. My biggest gripe. Six to eight hours.

It’s big. Big things take time.

Depends on your internet speed of course.  I think it's 100 plus GBs then of course all the free world updates you'll need in the marketplace.

I think my base install took 1-2 hrs.

@ryanbatc1-2 hours! Wow. My download speed is 82 Mbps with AT@T. I know I’m hardware challenged with my eight years old Aurora R6 but we have to use what we have.

Yeah just let it run overnight I suppose.

I have 300 down and some people obviously have much faster connections.

I just reinstalled last night because for some reason I could only launch MSFS once; If I exited the sim and tried again I would get an "unspecified error" and the only way to get past it was to reboot the computer and launch again. After a few weeks of trying to troubleshoot it I decided to just reinstall.

I launched the installation last night before bed and it took 8 hours to download and begin decompressing. Then it got stuck decompressing a file. I got past it by closing the sim and restarting and it eventually finished. But the installation was corrupted and I had pink tiles everywhere. I tried to verify files but to no avail. So I just deleted the install and began downloading again. It will be another 8 hours until it is ready to launch.

I am happy they are planning to move more to the cloud in 2024.

I'm sure it's because you're young; time shrinks as you grow older. At my age 6-8 hours lasts but a moment😉

I don't understand it when the product is just 10Mb in size 😜

Seriously though, your internet is relativly slow these days.  I'm using Starlink satelite internet, averaging 250Mbps download speed, but even this is slower than a lot get.

MSFS 2020 STEAM version?

No reboot need it, just shutdown STEAM application and relaunch.

No, it was the store version. 2024 will likely be a Steam install!
