Check your VR set's Face interface for spiders...

Featured Replies

Had an "experience" I could have lived without, today.

I was flying and had to get up for moment. Put my Oculus on the desk and upon getting up knocked it off the desk. When I came back I saw that the facial interface had come clean off.

That is not a problem it can be reattached without a problem. But...

On the back side the plastic has a comb structure. And in one of the combs I saw something white that looked like a sheet of paper. So I picked a small metal object and peeled it out of there. It desintegrated into a sticky white mass like cotton candy. I was totally confused.

Until I saw had a second look into that specific comb structure of the plastic and spotted the corpse of a spider and small little white dots and then it dawned on me...

A spider had laid its eggs into my headset and I had just squished the egg sac.

And I have been wearing this thing on my face and have no clue how long this has been in there...

 😦

So check your interfaces regularly for any "surprises".

Yup make sure to keep your HMDs clean and watch where you store them.

Not just creepy crawlers but sanitize your VR HMD so you don't catch a bad face fungus/ sinus infection as well.
