Yup I have the same combination as of last week, and it’s incredible.

Are you using frame generation? G-sync display or not?

I am considering going from my 3070 Ti to a 4080 but have not yet pulled the trigger. I have a 5900X though, so I imagine I am more CPU bottlenecked compared to your 5800X3D. I upgraded from a 6700K 2 years ago and even this 5900X says its limited by the MainThread. Still much better than my old 2080/6700k build was.

5900X

32GB DDR4-3600MHz

ZOTAC RTX 3070 Ti

Game installed on 980 PRO

Main display Gigabyte M27Q X 27" 1440p 240Hz

I have a 4090 and 5800x3D and it’s just an amazing experience. I’ve never had a flight sim look so good and work so smoothly. It’s magical.

the 4090 is crazy expensive… but it is insanely fast. I too wish it was cheaper, it was hard to make that decision to buy.  But now I don’t regret it at all.

Interesting thread as I have a 5800X3D with an RTX3080 and was wondering about upgrading to a 4080 as well.

Interesting also that I have been seeing a bit of that flashing as described lately and thought it might be a driver issue, so will take a look at my bloom setting.

My 4090 is arriving tomorrow. I have a 5900x, but I guess it shouldn't be too much of a bottleneck with the 4090 just brute forcing everything with frame generation. Super super excited.

Out of interest, what AA mode are you running? I’m using DLAA with DLSS at the minute but will try TAA as well. On a 4K 60hz gsync compatible screen but tomorrow I’m hooking up a 4K 144hz screen with native gsync so looking forward to try that!

If you're looking for the best quality, stick to DLAA. It's better than TAA.

DLSS Quality with FG on with some sharpening looks great at 43 " 3840x2160 most things on high couple of things on ultra and a couple of things turned off. I will try other settings though
