Do you really have to turn bloom off?  That's a shame.  Some things look like 'word not allowed' with bloom turned off, especially the sun. 

I don't get this flashing with my 3080Ti with bloom on.  60FPS Vsync.  DX11.   So is it just a 40 series thing?  I am thinking of upgrading as well at the moment but not if this is an issue.

@sonny147  Congratulations on your new setup though.  Seems like you are really pleased with it.  I can hold 60FPS in most situations with the 3080, but not all, so I would like a decent GPU upgrade to enable me to do this, with frame generation or not.  Obviously a 40 series would allow me to do this.

536.40 driver not the best display wise ( flashing a bit ) not the worst though

Yeah, bloom is bugged with DX12 or FG, I don't know what it is but then flashing happens. Along with all the ground rendering problems with DX12 in some areas, it really sucks that DX12 is needed for FG.

Yeah i did stopped instantly i think its a dx12 thing as well as a not so great driver , yeah i had a 3080 12 gb could just about manage 60fps , but now the TV is the bottleneck i think lol. i paid just over £900 for the 4080 and sold the 3080 for£550 so all in all not too bad , seems crazy even saying that !

whats the price of a 120hz 4k tv these days may make a good addition ?

Oh baby my mouth is watering, I'm waiting on a new build.  4090 + 7800X3D, should be arriving this week.   Upgrading from 8 year old i7 4790k + 1070!  I've already got my 2 x 4k monitors ready to go, just need the hardware!  I can't wait to get it all setup!!

looking now with the frame counter on at EGLL , 53 fps mainthread limited but in reality with FG on its about 80 all 4k bonkers ! 4090 maybe 100 lol

I forgot to ay all that was with the Fenix too , my set up is geared towards airbus

You definitely have a few good options there where 4K TV's are concerned.

I have a 55 inch Sony X90K and run at 120Hz with DX12 & FG on my 4090 and could not be happier. I chose the Sony as they have great motion processing, I already have a 65 inch X90J as my main TV. Lots of people swear by OLED's as well. I was a little worried a 55 inch TV would be too big sitting around 3 feet away but I soon got used to it. I came from a bog standard 43 inch 4K TCL TV.

Yes these 40XX cards are not cheap, I work hard lol plus I sold my 3090 for a decent price as well which helped justify the investment.

man if you work hard you deserve to play hard no problem with that here , i was looking at oled but i have heard of this thing " burning " something to do with image ghosting a bit worrying for such an investment !

OLED is great, beautiful colours, contrast and completely black dark levels. However yes, burn-in is absolutely still a problem, especially when using it as a PC monitor but even worse is the fact that the sub-pixel arrangement of OLED means text can look fuzzy, unclear or just off at certain light levels / background colours. So if you do a lot of productivity work, it could be annoying but also for flight simming, with lots of fine text, it could pose a problem. I recently picked up a new monitor and just just went with IPS again, absolutely don't want an OLED as a PC monitor, no way.

you seem to know your your onions with this thanks, to be honest TV/Monitor/Audio i dont know enough about more research i guess or just ask my 12 year old lol

Only happens in certain scenarios I've found. Also thought I didn't have it for a long time, then I saw it occasionally on some flights and had to turn off bloom, unfortunately.

aim getting solid 60+ airborne dropping 45-55 at addon airports 4k 60hz including EGLL ( yes aim laughing to myself its madness ) with 4080 / 5800x3D , i have never seen smoothness like this before , however i am never happy so probably black Friday 120 4k tv 4090ti ( who knows ) and a 7800x3D/8800x3D  insane thing whatever , love simming  and the community , just got to figure out a way to harness the heat from the pc to heat the house ?, there must be some  engineers out there lol

I just upgraded to 4070 Ti from 2080Ti, in DX11 there was no difference in fps at all, but with frame generation I got double fps and very smooth panning, my i9 10900k is a bottleneck in my system, I plan to upgrade the CPU and memories when MS 2024 is released.
