V6 a keeper for me

Q400 is officially supported 👍

ifly said they can’t spare the resources, and IDK if someone’s found a hack.

That is not the full quote from Ifly,

Hi iFlyers,

In light of the recent announcement made by Lockheed Martin’s Prepar3D team with regards to the upcoming version 6, we have received questions about the compatibility of our NG & MAX Advanced Series products with this new simulator.

Neither the NG nor the MAX are now compatible with Prepar3D v6.

P3D v6 compatibility will require reworks of the models, textures, effects, gauge displays, PBR and more.

We are currently in development with the MAX for MSFS 2020.  As you are aware, that is now our main focus.

We do plan to make the NG and MAX compatible with P3D v6, but MSFS 2020 takes precedence.

We cannot provide a timeline for the P3D v6 compatibility work or if the upgrade will require payment.  More on that in the future.

Happy iFlying!

With some addons we will just have to be patient, good things will come to those who wait.

Just a quick missive.

I will more that likely purchase Chaseplane "Pro" as I have already got V6 and ASP6.

At that point I will be lighter to the tune of approx. $140 and so-far I feel it has/will be a total waste of money !

What will I have gained? So-far nothing but heartache and hassle and (I know this is extremely subjective) very little (if any) gain in the sim itself, neither with performance or eye candy.

I'm missing my TOGA addons and am stuck with some horrible brownish haze sitting on most horizons.

But, Hey, I've had a 'great' weekend tinkering and tweaking with my PC,...yay, just like the old days !!

Money well spent ? 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️😃

@Sparkrite,
Eheheh, I'm going opposite of you, but then again - Uninstaller here !!! Beware !!! 🤩

The rational (if that exists in my simmer brain 😜) was:

1) I'm disappointed with pretty much everything about XP12;

2) I don't like MFS for other than scenery and functionality... and using only the Fenix A320 and the PMDG 737 which, both, are IMO lagging behind respectively the FSLabs A319/20 and the PMDG 737s for P3D...;

3) I was missing PMDG 777 200 LR

4) There was a considerable "Osborne Effect" in me since the announcement of FS 2024 - I feel FS 2020 is a total waste of time and resources until then...;

5) tried P3D6 using a 1 month Professional License and really like what I see & feel;

6) I bought ASP3D6, and it was my best decision since I last used it with P3D5... Active Sky is a different league in P3D, and unfortunately they aren't allowed to do their professional work in MFS, so, I was really missing a decent weather generator...

RESULT: I'm now a very happy P3D6 user, with PMDG 777 200 LR and AEROSOFT MADEIRA X Extended running like a charm... I look forward for Hervé Sors tools in order to be able to edit the airports I use the most. I also plan to buy an ATC program to go with P3D6.

I'm purchasing the New "Personal" License as soon as I get near the end of the 1 month subscription.

I miss FSLabs A319 and 320, tried to trick their FSLControlCenter but it didin't work 😞  but Heck! I have the 777 !!!

AH !!! And i really need a decent Turboprop ! The Q-400 is calling, and it was one of my preferred aircraft in times of FSX.

And... there's that kindly offered freeware collection by Milviz which I really have to explore !

@jcomm,
I like the way your simmer brain thinks and I feel pretty much the same as you about P3Dv6 and the other sims! (very surprisingly it has become more attractive to me than XP12 since it came out-that may change with the next XP update (but I'm not holding my breath for anything nowadays-it isn't healthy for me!).

There are paid ATC options (I use FSHUD and also managed to trick VoxATC which I already own into working with v6) but even the default ATC works fine now with SIDS and STARS "supported".

I agree with you wholeheartedly in relation to the other sims and I own both of them as well.

My comments were totally to do with V5.4 versus V6. whereas I think your observations have more to do with

your disappointment with the other offerings and your return to P3D and it just happened to be V6.

Maybe I'm wrong and it's just how I read it.

@jcomm, Agree with you here. Tried the other sim 2x and, well, reinstalled 5.4 and all is well. Really missed the hand crafted airports. KSTS and KTVL being my local airports. I have V6 and will install side by side and see if I can get my ORBX stuff shoe horned in. Glad to see AS is working well.
