August 2, 20232 yr I think I have seen videos saying to click on a clickspot behind me, but I find no clickspot there. Of course I have moved the handle to open. Also to me it seem that MSFS lacks any key command for open the door (canopy) at least I find no.
August 2, 20232 yr In FSX it used to be shift+E+1, shift+E+2, etc. to open all the hatches (that weren't battened down). 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.

August 2, 20232 yr You may find an answer here and regardless, it is a useful resource to have. -B https://www.gamesradar.com/microsoft-flight-simulator-2020-keyboard-controls/
August 3, 20232 yr FSX had lots of good things removed in MSFS. In FSX controls page you check a box to make a key or button command repeat as long has you held it down. Or leave it unchecked to not repeat. You won't find this option in MSFS.(It is in Axis and Ohs). No access to the game at present but the click spot should be somewhere around where the real life latch sits, just above your head, dead centre between the seats. You can see the latch lever in this real life photo. Edited August 3, 20232 yr by Glenn Fitzpatrick
August 3, 20232 yr I can just speak for the Sting and there you have to use the red handle on the pilots side to open the canopy. No shortcut. Btw a very nice feature in the Sting is if you try to open the canopy in flight it won't open fully due to the wind... but it won't close fully either due to the wind 😉 you have to get very very slow to close it or land... but the noise of the wind will drive you nuts... It is just the left hand (Pilot side) lever. It does need to be rotated all the way past the green "Open" section to begin opening but that one click spot does the job.

A manual would have been good Yeah, at least it is easier than a real Sting where you need to unlatch both sides then reach behind you and release the rear latch as well and push up while also holding it firmly in case the wind catches the canopy and turns it into a parasail. The other issue with the canopy in the real Sting is, on a hot day, it seems to focus sunlight on the dash like a magnifying glass and try and almost set the plane on fire 😄
