The only time it seems to go to 30(60) is when I'm on final to a large airport that needs to be loaded in, and it's noticeable... call it a stutter or a pause or a lurch... but the CPU is just hammered at some point and your FPS takes a huge hit... but it only lasts a second or so. When I'm taxi-ing around a large airport with traffic etc. it can get down to 40(80) and that's still smooth. Edited August 25, 20232 yr by Virtual-Chris

"nvidia reflex low latency" in MSFS options is not applicable with frame gen on. So in answer to your question, I have reflex set to "on" but it's grayed out because I have frame gen on. So in answer to your question, I have reflex set to "on" but it's grayed out because I have frame gen on. I think reflex is forced on with FG. I'm pretty sure it was active before I turned on FG, and I had it on when I activated FG. This is where I got my settings... from Reddit and they are working a charm! - Since we're using DX12, ignore the bit about NULL (Nvidia Ultra Low Latency) in NVCP and focus on Reflex... ------------------ G-Sync and V-Sync ON in NVCP NULL set to Ultra in NVCP V-Sync OFF in-game Reflex ON or ON+Boost in-game Frame rate cap is not necessary these days as NULL Ultra and Reflex both automatically cap your frame rate as a proportion of your refresh rate when combined with NVCP V-Sync. It's 59 FPS at 60Hz, 116 FPS at 120Hz, and so on. Edit: I should clarify that since NULL only works in DX9/10/11 games, if you're playing a DX12, OGL or Vulkan game that doesn't have Reflex, you will need to use a manual frame rate cap in NVCP or RTSS in this circumstance. This is the only correct way to set things up according to Blurbusters' guide. Any other advice is just plain wrong. However, there are a few games that play weirdly with NVCP V-Sync; for those games you'll want to disable NVCP V-Sync specifically for those games (program-specific tab to override the global setting) and use the in-game V-Sync instead. There aren't many games like this though. Edited August 27, 20232 yr by Virtual-Chris
January 31, 20242 yr Been enjoying this thread, very informative. Some information about the benefits of capping FPS, for what its worth. It reduces CPU and GPU load and battery consumption (esp. who runs msfs with gaming laptop). When GPU and CPU load is not being "abused", it reduces heat and prolongs hardware lifespan. Although gaming laptop and Desktop PC are now better than ever in terms of lifespan, it's like a car, it may be designed to go as fast as we want but we don't necessarily push it to the limit on daily use, or pushing the throttle all the way up during cruise. This might not be a fair comparison but the idea is more to economical, unless you can spend the earth for upgrading every two years. It also allows GPU and CPU process other background processes. And of course, the smoothness (even more important with FG applied). However there is another opinion that only overclocking does reduce the lifespan of certain hardware.
