GotFriends update to v4 on DC-3 etc. (inc. JATO!)

Featured Replies

I was just thinking the other day, what happened to the JATO update that GotFriends said they were working on.  Well here it is with lots of updates, fixes, and additional stuff.

I can't wait to try the DC-3 with JATO later today.  Float and ski models included for the DC-3 of course.  Thanks to GotFriends for doing this!  It is worth checking out the rest of their site - some excellent stuff for free.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Thanks for posting this. I've completely forgot them after they left Flightsim.to.

Cheers, Ed

I've probably asked before, but is this all compatible with the Duckworks DC-3 mod ?

EDIT : Never mind, just re-read the opening post.

The modded versions (ski, float) will be eventually.

Just tried the JATO on the skis version.  It is literally a blast!

You have to keep the nose up so as not to overspeed, but it goes up at a few thousand feet per minute for about 15-20 seconds before the bottles cut.
I needed it anyway as I was taking off from Big Bear at altitude and performance wasn't that great due to the thinner air.

Yes, it's a shame they left flightsim.to.

Since they did most livery painters have forgotten about them as well, so almost no new repaints for the bush version anymore.

Just to clarify, we didn't leave Flightsim.to, we were kicked off the platform.
Anyways, cheers guys! Glad you are all liking the new update!

About the DC3, was the cockpit updated recently ? Last time I tried, the virtual cockpit was too small in VR, making the plane unusable. Is it still the case ?

I'm not sure, I did have to re-model merge our changes into the DC-3 because it had changed since it's release (Nov. 11, 2022). So maybe they updated something. Not sure, haven't tried myself. Aeroplane Heaven / Microsoft are in charge of those sources.

Thanks for the clarification. I was hoping that modders / 3rd parties could rectify this but it might simply not be possible. Bad luck.
