November 28, 20232 yr I'm flying Seattle to Fairbanks in the fenix a320. During cruise the autopilot has been knocked off course several times. Is this a bug or is it some strong gust of wind and the waypoints being spaced too far apart. Some of these are like 300nm away. I'm able to quickly reacquire the flight path but its annoying. I even updated the wind info to see if that would help.

November 28, 20232 yr Only time i have seen that, was either an extreme weather event, or where there's a sudden change in the conditions due to how the weather is implemented in the sim. Are you hitting Alpha floor, again will cause the protection to disconnect the AP AMD Ryzen 7 5800x3d, MSI X570 Pro, 32 gb DDR4 3600 ram, Gigabyte 6800 16gb GPU, 1x 2tb Samsung NvMe , 1x 2tb Sabrent NvME, 1x Crucial 4tb Nvme M2 Drive
November 28, 20232 yr It also happens if you come into close proximity with AI traffic, or at least it does with AIG which is what I use. You should get traffic warnings to allow you to maintain separation (the AI won't move) but if you leave the sim unattended and have a near miss, it will be on HDG mode rather than LNAV when you come back.
November 28, 20232 yr About a month ago, a group of us were flying the same course. Some on Vatsim, some not. We were spaced out pretty good, and I also think we were in different airframes. As we all hit the same geographical point, we all had the OPs problem. As near as we can tell, we hit an area where MSFS updated the weather and the changing conditions made the plane think something had happened and kicked off AP.
November 28, 20232 yr Heres another solution that worked for me - may or may not be the case with you... I had TM Rudder pedals that had become 'dirty' in the potentiometer (not sure of spelling!) ...but because they would flicker, during cruise they would wildly move and disconnect the AP... I tried to clean the item - lengthy process that didnt work - so eventual bought some Turtle Beach Velocity One pedals and since then the issue has been gone... As i say, may or may not be the case with you... i9 13900KF @ 5.5Ghz | MoBo MSI PRO Z690-A WiFi | Corsair Vengeance Black RGB RS 64gb DDR4 3200MHz | MSI GeForce RTX 5090 Vanguard SOC 32GB | MP33 Pro 1TB M.2-2280 NVME SSD for OS | Samsung 870 QVO 2.5" 4TB SSD SATA2 | Samsung 990 PRO 2TB | Corsair RM1000X 2021 1300W 80 Plus Gold PSU | Antec Dark Fleet DF700 Flux Gaming Case | Win 11 home | Samsung 65" 4K TV | G512 Keyboard | Razer Basilisk V2 Mouse | WinCtrl URSA MINOR 32 Throttle Metal / 32 PAC Metal | WinCtrl Ursa Minor Sidestick |Velocity One Rudder | MiniCockpit FCU and EFIS | WinCtrl MCDU | Stream Deck XL | Tobii Eye Tracker | Pimax Crystal Light | Doug
