Blurry visual on P3Dv5

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have a blurry visual under P3D: Mainly the runway lights and the clouds.
I tried different settings, reduced everything to minimum, I couldn't find the setting.
I have a good graphics card, a RTX3070.
Someone would have any idea ?
Thanks in advance
Joël

Delete shaders and consider to add 'fiber fraction' entry to P3D.cfg

If you have FXAA on, turn it off and see if that fixes it.

Thanks Guys.

I delete shaders => No effet

I added line FIBER_FRAME_TIME_FRACTION=0.33 on cfg file (and i tested with some values) => No effet

I turned off FXXAA => No effets

I don't understand.

Witch window resolution is that?

I think that your P3D is in 640x480 resolution... or something like that.

13600KF - AIO - 32GB DDR4 - RTX4070 - UW1440p GSync - USB DAC - 2TB NVMe - Windows 11 Pro - Gladiator NXT EVO - 1 Gbps Fiber  - MSFS 2024

Try to set Fiber Fraction for higher values, 0.33 is standard, but i usually set this to 0.5 or 0.6.

Fiber Fraction is the best way to get rid of blurries.

I tried with 0.1, .0.3, 0.6, 0.9, 10 and 30.

I deleted shaders before each test.

There is no changes.

Might have to do a re-install of P3D.......... a bit of hassle but at least you know its all clean.

There are easier ways to set the sim to defaults, but it's your time and effort.

OS=WIN11 Home, Sim=P3D5 5.3 (P3D4 and FSX for install reasons)
Addons=ORBX, ASCA, AS, TOGA and tons of sceneries, aircraft

MB=Gigabyte AORUS Z790 Elite AX, CPU=i13900K, Cooling=Be quiet! Pure Loop II FX
GPU=KFA2 RTX3090 24 GB, RAM=64 GB DDR5-5600, HOTAS=Logitech G Saitek X52 Pro

What do you sugest ?

Deleting the generated files (there is a command in the Prepar3D directory). This let Prepar3D.exe rebuild the sim in vanilla state. To even use less force, you could only delete prepar3d.cfg file, which will be rebuilt on next start and also has the effect to reset everything from the sim. But if you have bad visuals on a fresh setup, it must be something not setup correctly for the gpu/monitor. There we have the tools from the gpu vendor, NVIDA Control panel e.g. or gpu-z, to check your gpu settings on the hardware side.

Also Windows has many options to repair the system, which are easier than a full reinstall, formatting drives and such nuclear options.
