BC Ferries

Featured Replies

I have been experimenting a bit with Henrik Nielsen's Ships.. cutting back the routes to the U.S. West Coast only and getting rid of the Costa cruise ship that likes to sail just off Vancouver..  But my real goal would be to see the main BC Ferries routes active with the supplied vessels, which are very good, but do not show up where I might expect them.

Has anyone worked on this, and maybe found a solution?

I remember a package that had all of them and schedule matching routes, for a prior sim. I don't recall if it was P3D/FSX or XP, but one of them. Perhaps if you find that package, and reach out to the developer, they might be persuaded to port it over to MSFS. Fingers crossed!

Bert, is the issue that they’re being crowded out by other traffic?  Just trying to wrap my head around why they aren’t showing up if they are included in the package.

I believe I read that a "real time" version with scheduled routes is "under development" by the authors, including Larry Robinson of P3D Orbx BC Ferries fame.. but have not seen any specs or timeline..

I use Henrik's Global Shipping around New York mainly fir the Staten Island Ferry, but other ships and Ferries are populated too with just the N America routes loaded.

If you haven't already done so, shipping traffic has to be reduced to 15% in the sims traffic settings for it to work.

I used to have all the packages installed but found loading times were very long and I think I was hitting the msfs object limit (whatever they set that to or why?).
