PMDG 737 CDU/FMC on Tablet?

Recommended Posts

Hey there,

one of the things I really loved when I flew the FlyByWire A320neo in MSFS was the ability to have the MCDU on an external tablet.

Is there anything similar available for free for the PMDG 737?
I've found something called Axis and Ohs (AAO) but it's free for just 20 minutes 😅

Anything out there you can recommend? What do you guys use for having the FMC on an external device?

It's not free, but the Aviasoft Remote CDU works very well with the PMDG 737, and it's fairly inexpensive (10 Eurogazinks).  Works on any device that can run a web browser.

Using the Fergo Virtual CDU on an 8" tablet. Works great.

Thanks @polosim and @Noell, got the Fergo CDU as recommended. Easy install and nice first look, but after a few minutes of testing, MSFS froze.
Restarting the server and web browser didn't help, MSFS still not responding. Can't even exit the sim 😄😄

I'll give it another try in a couple days when doing a regular sim flight. Hope it'll work 'cause a remote CDU is really really convenient I think.

That is because the purpose of the app is something completely different. Buying this app only makes sense if the original use cases fit your bill.

As it has a built in web server, one can do remote FMCs with it too, which is a side hobby project of mine (there are FMCs/CDUs for 14 different aircraft at the moment, and those "addons" to AAO are all free).

In addition of @Bob Scott ‘s recommendation:

- Fergo Virtual CDU

Any support for the Fenix A320? And how does this compare to the AVIAWORKS one? Which is better?

So far, no support for Fenix A320 planned.

Hard to say, both work in a very good way, with a few reports of server crashes or connection problems.

Using the Aviaworx on my iPad since the beginning of the PMDG 737 @ MSFS and it works quite well. Maybe 1 crash in 3 years.

You can install everything, buy a license key for 737 FMC, then connect and then GO...

Just need the Server running on your PC, then you open the FMC via Browser on your Pad.

Aviaworx is great, have been using it for fsx/p3d. Very reliable and responsive. Dont know about your financial situation but I wouldn't hesitate to spend 10 eur for an external cdu that works flawlessly.

In the meantime, you could give a quick read of the manual, maybe you will find the answer to your problem.

Have set the Fergo CDU program to be run as admin and worked flawless!
Really satisfied with the App on my tablet.
Just wondering how long it takes until I want a physical CDU 😄
