Altitude callout app

Featured Replies

My VA just updated the ACars program and the new one doesn't have altitude callouts anymore, like 1,000, 500, etc...  the DC6 doesn't have them either. Anyone know of an app that does  this, I don't think the new RAAS does it either..

Nothing I've seen specifically for MSFS that I can recall but I believe I used to have one for FSX.  Not sure if that could be recompiled for MSFS if the dev is still around.  Maybe the individual call outs could be stripped our and some new code written to use them.

I can't remember the name of the dev or the program after all these years, though a search might reveal something (Can't remember whether it was boeing or airbus specific but believe the callouts were boeing style(.

Yeah when I googled the issue I came up with only an FSX version.

Off topic, but something I miss from FSX ATC is altimeter checks. Not sure how often rl pilots actually pester atc with those, but it appealed to my OCD.

Real life, I set the altimeter setting from the Atis or ATC, and see if the altimeter reads the field elevation prior to departure.

On the subject of altitudes, whilst I can work out the QFE from the QNH minus airfield altitude, it would be nice if ATC gave you the QFE before take off as in real life - it would surely be dead easy to program.
