Early last year i upgraded to the AMD 7800x3d and the 7900xt(20 gig) GPU. M.2 drives. 32 gigs ram.

System performs excellent in msfs2020, P3dV5&6, XP11&12.

34" Dell Ultrasharp monitor at 34xx x 14xx.

Totally happy with the AMF components. it.

  • 7800X3D no questions asked for your specific use case. 7950X3D is a powerhouse CPU, who's power is actively underutilised in games, so you're paying extra power that won't at all be used. It's a CPU m

  • the future CPUs will be more future proof.

  • If you mainly use your PC for gaming, 7800X3D, otherwise 7950X3D.

I have just retired, so have allocated funds for a completely new FlightSim setup.  New PC, Monitor, rudder pedals and force feedback yoke.

PC - it appears the best CPU/GPU are the AMD 7800x3d and the NVidia 4090.

Monitor/TV - I have been running 1440 resolution with a 2080ti, but assume the step up to 4K is now the way to go with the new PC.  I am confused whether to go for an HDR10 monitor or TV.  I have always had a monitor - are there any major problems using a 4K television, or is a 4K monitor going to be better?  The display must be HDR10 - I have been using an HDR600 monitor and want to continue with HDR.

Force feedback yoke I have been looking at the Brunner - are there better alternatives?

Rudder pedals will be the Thrustmaster TPR Pendular.

This is going to be the biggest spend ever on a new PC, so any other advice would be welcomed 😎

The Screen shot is from a bugged test by some youtuber , the 7950x is 4% faster then the 7800x3d if you run i the 7950 " in 7800x3d mode"

7950x3d is higer binned cpu  and the std max boost is 200mhz higher , i have both cpus run my 7950x3d in bclk mode ( async ) and use 8 cores 7800x3d mode

the bosst is 5600mhz contra 5300 for the 7800x3d ,

If money dosent matter the 7950x3d all day long ,

Still sticking with the 7950x3d now we know more about 2024, @westman?

yes , wait for a 9950X3D and a Galax 5090 OC Lab Ed, and some good G-Skill 8000mhz 64GB for the 9950X3D

Why particularly the 9950X3d? What's the determining spec that makes it the best? Just the core count for 2024?
