I simply select Normal and everything runs perfectly with no error messages showing on startup or shutdown. Anyone have any idea why the Safe mode option is being presented at every startup? Do you perhaps own the TDS GTNXi ? I don't get a safe mode message like you but often when I close the sim after a flight, the TDS GTN will silent-crash in the background, even if I was not in an aircraft that uses it. It is only noticeable by checking the Windows Reliability Monitor, otherwise I would not know it happened at all. It is a known bug and the TDS team is aware and looking into it - basically it does let go of the sim when the sim is closed, causes an "unclean" shutdown. I do indeed have the TDS GTNXi. Furthermore, after checking the reliability monitor as you suggested, I see several entries saying "GTN Xi Series Trainer Stopped Working". I've had the TDS GTNXi for a long time but being presented with the option for safe startup every time the sim is opened only started happening on March 24th. Anyway, good to know TDS is on it. May 25, 20242 yr Author SU15 update went quite well and the sim now remembers the screen mode. However, SU15 did not fix the sim presenting me with the option to run in Normal mode or Safe Mode every time it is launched. I've done the suggestions presented in this thread. Anyone have any more ideas on this one? The Safe/Normal screen happens when the sim doesn't close down properly. So something is keeping it from doing that. This is elementary but are you closing it with the Close to Desktop button? i7-10700 CPU @2.90 GHz, 32 GB Ram, nVadia GTX1660ti, Samsung 1 TB SSD Drive
May 26, 20242 yr Author Yep. Using close to desktop at the end of a sim session. BTW - Sim is running beautifully with no errors on startup or shutdown. I'm on Steam so I've run verify files a couple of time and I've tried running the sim with an empty Community folder all to no avail. I'm thinking a re-install of the sim might be the only way to fix this but for what is basically just an annoyance its probably worth the hassle. May 26, 20242 yr Hi, I'm experiencing the same odd issue since SU15. Every time I launch the FS2020 appears the Safe Mode Option. I'm not using the TDS GTNXi, by the way. Greetings.

I'm not using the TDS GTNXi, by the way. Greetings. This started happening to me long before SU15. About two months before, actually. Was SU14 the update that changed to splash screen to the Dune Theme? I'm pretty sure it was after that update the sim started asking me if I wanted to start in Safe Mode. I am using the TDS GTNXi but I uninstalled it to see if it fixed the problem. It didn't so I reinstalled it.
