Horizon Simulations B787-9, any news?

Recommended Posts

Greetings!

I'm currently on a flight in this wonderful aircraft in MSFS. Just wondering if it is continuing to be developed. Haven't heard any news about it as of late.

Regards,

Scott

It is. I know they were working on CPDLC can't remember what else but they have just shown some new images of the 787-10. Best way to find things would be the discord.

Hi,

Thanks for that. Glad to hear it is still being developed.

Discord does not work for me, unfortunately.

Scott

What do you think the B787-9 needs to be updated/developed?

Cheers, Ed

I think it would be nice to see more functionality for the EFB. Also, it would be nice if the 1st Officer PFD wasn't a mirror of the Captain's side. Meaning the clock and other info is on the right side of the PFD for the 1st Officer, like in the real world aircraft.

I know this is freeware, but Navigraph integration would be nice as well.

Again, just a wish-list.

None of this is a deal breaker by any means! Just would be nice, in my humble opinion 😉

Regards,

Scott

Looks good enough for me. Of course it can be improved in certain areas but most of it is in a good standard in my opinion.

Do you mean Kuro, Horizon, and Working Title?

Call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind, but I prefer Rob.

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Two suggestions to help you:

  • Make sure you have the latest version of the Horizon 789, for that you can use the updater of the Airbus A339. The take-off issues were resolved a long time ago last year and there is no such problem now.
  • In order to ensure you won't have a wrong CG, and thus a takeoff challenge, you need to follow a few points:
  1. DO NOT use the MSFS weight and balance window, but inport your Simbrief calculated weights into the FMC > Index > Settings > Weights and Balance > Set from OFP and wait for "Completed"
  2. Fill up all your FMC pages importing your Simbrief data, including flight plan, runways, SID and STAR, except the last Take Off page
  3. Go to your EFB Performance page and click on "Copy your FMC Data" into the EFB (button on bottom left), check each line and fill up when appropriate (wind, OAT and QNH), select Thrust and Flaps until you have the "Calculate" button on top right illuminated, click on it. Your performances is now available
  4. Click on "Send output" to the FMC Takeoff page, and click "Accept" on the FMC.
  5. Set your takeoff Trim to the indicated value in the FMC

Your plane is ready and you shall not have a "sticky" takeoff.. These last two days, I flew it from OMAA to WSSS and WSSS to RJTT with not a single issue.

Bernard, thanks.  From what I recall, this is the process I was following, but perhaps not completely.  Haven't  flown it for a while but will give it another go
